Another event, another packed house! DO40 presented its fourth annual Legacy Awards at their Holiday Dinner, this year again at the over-the-top LIPS restaurant in NYC. Honorees Norma Doggett-Bezwick, Larry Fuller, Carol Lawrence, George Marcy and Lee Roy Reams felt the warmth waft up to the dais. Check out photos from the awards inside!

PERFORMANCE OF THE CENTURY's book signing took place last night, December 14th at the Drama Book Shop. Actors' Equity president Nick Wyman and author Robert Simonson, as well as special guests gathered to recall Equity's first 100 years and celebrate the new book, PERFORMANCE OF THE CENTURY: 100 YEARS OF ACTORS' EQUITY ASSOCIATION AND THE RISE OF PROFESSIONAL AMERICAN THEATER. Actors Lee Roy Reams and Danny Burstein, and Justin 'Squigs' Robertson, who designed the book's cover, attended.

Dancers Over 40 Fourth Annual Legacy Awards and Holiday Dinner Set for 12/10

At this year's dinner and holiday party, Dancers Over 40 honors the some of our outstanding - and long-time -- members: Advisory Board Member Carol Lawrence (West Side Story, Subways are for Sleeping, New Faces of 1952), Board Member Lee Roy Reams (Sweet Charity, Applause, 42nd Street, La Cage aux Folles, The Producers), Advisory Board Member Larry Fuller (Evita, Sweeney Todd, On the Twentieth Century, Merrily we Roll Along - choreographer), former Board Member George Marcy (West Side Story, Damn Yankees, Carnival, Man of La Mancha) and Norma Doggett-Bezwick (performed in Jack Cole's first Broadway musical, Magdalena, the movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Bells are Ringing, on Broadway). Every one of our members know them, the theater and dance community here and around the country seek them out. Each has a very passionate following. And their fans are legion.

Final Cast Announced for THE CHRISTMAS ROSE at Carnegie Hall

The new family musical special, The Christmas Rose, features a cast of over 400 and stars the multiple Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actress Jane Seymour and legendary Broadway actor and Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams. The Christmas Rose, with music and story by PBS composer Tim Janis, follows a young orphan named Annabelle, played by thirteen year old Bailey Grey, into the desert where she crosses paths with everyone from the three wise men and singing angels to Mary and Joseph, while being pursued by a team of desert bandits. The Christmas Rose is created in association with the Ogunquit Playhouse and is on stage at Carnegie Hall one night only Thursday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (212) 247-7800 or online at www.carnegiehall.org. Yesterday, July 9, friends and family of Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video), gathered at the New Signature Theatre space to honor the former cabaret star and beloved videographer at an intimate memorial celebration. Performers and speakers who came out to show their respects included Jared Bortz, Mario Cantone, Dan Daly, Jamie deRoy, Julie Halston, Jeff Harnar, Linda Harris, Karen Mason, Susie Mosher, Sidney Myer, Lee Roy Reams, Richard Ridge, Steven Skeels and Todd Stockman. As part of the celebration, Bradshaw's longtime friend and editor, Jonathan Frank, compiled the best of Bradshaw's cabaret past, and below, BroadwayWorld is thrilled to bring you the highlights from Bradshaw's career as a perfomer and cabaret fixture.

For over twenty-five years, the late Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video) was the theater world's preeminent videographer, capturing over 1,000 performances on Broadway, off-Broadway, in cabaret halls and beyond that now, because of him, live on today. Bradshaw Smith died on January 16, 2012, at age 57, following a sudden and severe stroke. To conclude the intimate memorial, Bradshaw's longtime friend and editor, Jonathan Frank, compiled the best of Bradshaw's work as a video artist. Karen Mason, Mario Cantone, et al. to Take Part in Bradshaw Smith Memorial, 7/9

A memorial celebration to honor the life and career of Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video) has been scheduled for Monday, July 9 at 4PM. Some of the performers and speakers taking part will include: Jared Bortz, Mario Cantone, Dan Daly, Jamie deRoy, Julie Halston, Jeff Harnar, Linda Harris, Karen Mason, Susie Mosher, Sidney Myer, Lee Roy Reams, Richard Ridge, Steven Skeels and Todd Stockman. The memorial will take place at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues). A reception will follow in the Signature Theatre's Cafe and Bar.
