Hoy han dado comienzo los ensayos de 'El Rey León' en los Teatros del Canal, para su estreno en el Teatro Lope de Vega de Madrid el próximo 21 de Octubre de 2011. Se ha presentado toda la compañía que contará además con la dirección de Julie Taymor para esta primera producción en castellano del clásico musical de Disney.
Esta mañana han empezado los ensayos del musical El Rey Leon, donde además se ha presentado a la compañía que estará durante esta producción en Madrid, que se estrenará el próximo 21 de octubre en el Teatro Lope de Vega. El reparto está encabezado por Carlos Rivera en el papel de Simba, David Comrie en el papel de Mufasa, Sergi Albert en el de Scar, Brenda Mhlongo en el papel de Rafiki, Daniela Pobega será Nala, Yerena Lafargue será Sarabi, Esteban Oliver estará en el papel de Zazú, David Avila en el papel de Timón, Albert Gracia en el de Pumba, Damaris Martinez será Shenzi, Jorge Ahijado será Banzai y Alejandro de los Santos será la hiena Ed.

El pasado miércoles 2 de marzo el Presidente de Disney Teatrical Productions, Thomas Schumacher, y el Dir. de Producción Internacional de Disney, Felipe Gamba, presentaron en el Teatro Real de Madrid el musical El Rey León, que llegará al Lope de Vega el próximo mes de Octubre. Uno de sus personajes más emblemáticos es Rafiki, que en este vídeo nos muestra los cinco idiomas africanos que se hablan en la producción.
