Performance Network of Ann Arbor will present O?ther Desert Cities?by Jon Robin Baitz June 11­July 12 completing a long delayed co­production with the Jewish Ensemble Theatre. The production garnered rave reviews and near sell out crowds during its West Bloomfield run and tickets are now on sale for the Network production. Directed by David Wolber and co­sponsored by Detroit sports and entertainment executive, Tom Wilson, O?ther Desert Cities?is the story of a wounded family and the secrets they share. It is the final main stage production in the Network's inaugural season under the new management of John Manfredi and Suzi Regan. The cast remains the same as at the JET and features the talents of Leah Smith, Naz Edwards, Hugh Maguire, Sandra Birch and Bryan Lark. Performances run Thursday­Sunday (Preview is Thursday, June 11; Opening Night is Friday, June 12) and tickets range in price from $25 to $41. Michigan's longest running, non profit, professional theatre is proud to announce the 2014/2015 Season - a Season of World Premiere plays. The Detroit Repertory Theatre will kick off its 58th Season on November 6, 2014 with a Champagne Celebration and toast to the four new plays never before produced on a professional stage. Four stories: BUZZ by Richard Strand is a biting comedy about a CEO trying to outsmart his stock clerk; SWEET PEA'S MAMA by Robert Lawrence Nelson, a story about racial dignity centers around a maid and the developmentally challenged son of her employer on the eve of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s death; THE KISS OF THE SUN FOR PARDON by Lans Traverse is a life affirming tale of unusual friendship, a barefoot waif and a wheel-chair bound curmudgeon, and the explosive relationship that ensues; and finally, WHITE ASH FALLING 9/11 by Thom Molyneaux is a gripping story of three actors whose personal stories intertwine with the characters they play in a play about the tragedy of September 11th, 2001.

As is the tradition for Opening Nights at the Rep, a free Champagne Reception will follow the performance with the cast, crew, and playwright who will be flying in to see her play. The Detroit Repertory Theatre's 2013/2014 Season will have a Champagne Opening and Celebration on November 07, 2013. The highlight of this 57th Opening Night at the Rep will be the Midwest Premiere comedy A FACILITY FOR LIVING by Katie Forgette. The rest of the season are all World Premiere plays that span a range of issues: a powerful story about the changing music scene in the 1960's in America as a metaphor for the race riots happening at the time; a mystery about 3 Cherokee 'blood brothers'; and finally a twisted comical romp about a professor who meets a student who has taken his teachings about animal rights literally.
