Gallery at New World Stages, located at 343 West 49th Street in New York City, announces the opening of Flashback: Street Scenes by Daria Deshuk - The Larry Rivers Years, an exhibition of 24 original oil paintings by Daria Deshuk.

The decades following World War II were heady times for American art. This fall, Reynolda House Museum of American Art will be the final host to 'Modern Masters from the Smithsonian American Art Museum,' an exhibition that examines the complex nature of American art in the mid-twentieth century. The exhibition will open Oct. 7 and continue through Dec. 31, 2011.

Available at the auction are works from established masters John Baldessari, Robert Rauschenberg, and Lee Bontecou; from fantastic artists such as Keith Mayerson, Coleen Fitzgibbon, and Diana Cooper; and works from emerging talents Lea Bertucci, Heather Cantrell, and Peter Rostovsky!

ACA Galleries' exhibition of 20th and 21st century collage, Fragments 1915-2011: Modern and Contemporary Collage, reveals the scope and depth of a medium sometimes overlooked but currently gaining notice among scholars and cultural tastemakers.

The Jewish Museum is presenting Light x Eight: Hanukkah 2010 at The Jewish Museum.

Three major sculptural installations related to Hanukkah will be on view in the contemporary gallery of Culture and Continuity: The Jewish Journey, The Jewish Museum's permanent exhibition, from November 19, 2010 to January 30, 2011. Alice Aycock's Greased Lightning (1984) is a motorized kinetic sculpture featuring an oversized moving dreidel, the small, inscribed top that children play with during the holiday. Miracle (2004) by Lynn Godley is a playful and monumental Hanukkah lamp that uses multiple lights to evoke the cumulative effect of progressively lighting the candles over eight nights. Matthew McCaslin's Bring the Light (2000) fashions metal electrical conduit, light switches and porcelain light fixtures into an innovative and decidedly nontraditional Hanukkah lamp. In addition, a selection from Eleanor Antin's video Vilna Nights (1993-97), a photograph by Mike Mandel entitled Robot Lights the Chanukah Candles (1985), and works on paper by Larry Rivers (1982) and Marc Alan Jacobs (1994) will be included.
