BroadwayWorld.com has learned this morning that HBO's LOOKING has sadly been cancelled. For the past few days, there have been endless articles after Sunday night's season finale of the show as to whether or not HBO would pick up the show for a third season. The show's amazingly talented cast, led by Broadway's Jonathan Groff (currently in HAMILTON at the Public Theater) has been praised for their frank storytelling. The show has been compared to a 21st century version of Armistead Maupin's TALES OF THE CITY.

The Vagabond Players have announced its historic 100th consecutive season for 2015-16. The centennial season is made up of revivals of past successful Vagabond productions. The Vagabonds first opened in 1916 as a part of the Little Theatre Movement that was sweeping the country at the time. Ben Rimalower just might be heading a revival of downtown theater. Following the wild success of his popular cabaret-theater piece, Patti Issues, which ran forever (and is still going strong), he's back with his latest entry into obsessive-compulsive issues, Bad With Money, running at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre through April. This is a profoundly darker work, laced with campy humor and his trademark spitfire delivery. It is more serious and thought provoking as he expounds on his neurotic spending habits and substance addictions.

Film and television stars (and audiences) are sure to come out in droves when funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler take the stage for a final time (so they say!) to host the Golden Globes, tonight on NBC at 8pm/7c. While the annual ceremony wouldn't be as geared toward theatre people as, say, the Tony Awards (June 7th on CBS for those who need a heads-up), this year is a bit different, with a collection of nominees having Broadway experience, and a few films up for nods having ties to theatre as well.
