Chance Theater Nearing Completion of 'Bold New Home' Capital Campaign

Chance Theater is excited to announce that we are entering the final push in our bold new home capital campaign drive, thanks to a $50,000 challenge gift from a group of Chance supporters - community leaders Wylie & Bette Aitken, Larry & Sophie Cripe, Mary Kay Fyda-Mar, and Tod & Linda White. 'So many people have worked so hard and given so much to help make this dream come true,' says Mary Kay Fyda-Mar, immediate Past Chair of the Chance Theater Board. 'They say it takes a village, but I like to say that it takes a family.'

Chance Theater Receives Challenge Grant at Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center Dedication Ceremony

On Saturday, February 7, Chance Theater's Board of Directors, staff and resident artists held a special event to honor their major capital campaign donors and give them a literal standing ovation. The guest of honor at the event was community leader, Bette Aitken, whose husband Wylie surprised her last year with a $250,000 gift to the Chance to name the theater's new home after her.

Chance Theater hosted a 'Design Preview Party' for its upcoming production of IN THE HEIGHTS, which starts performances on July 3. The 'Design Preview Party' is a special event that Chance Theater offers its members and VIP guests. It gives an exclusive group of patrons an opportunity to get an early glimpse at what the theater has in store, as well as meet the artists who will be working on and off the stage on the next show. Chance Theater Celebrates New Home and New Name: Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center

At Saturday's grand opening of Chance Theater's Bold New Home, Wylie Aitken, a major arts supporter and chair of the California Arts Council, announced that he has made a $250,000 contribution to name the new home of the Chance after his lovely wife, Bette Aitken. The new name will be the Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center. The official dedication ceremony will be scheduled soon.
