Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein recently announced that Keen's acclaimed new production of Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick...BOOM! would play an extended run through December 18th. Beginning tonight, November 22nd, Lilli Cooper, seen on Broadway in Spring Awakening and Wicked, will take over the role of Susan.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, swept the First Annual Berkshire Theatre Awards last night, winning 20 out of possible 25 awards. Winners of the awards-nicknamed "The Berkies"-were first announced on Monday, October 17, 2016, and awards were presented Sunday, November 13 at a ceremony held at Mr. Finn's Cabaret (36 Linden St) in Pittsfield, MA.

Today Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced that tickets are now on sale for four more weeks, through December 18th, for Keen's acclaimed new production of Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick...BOOM! The folks over at Barrington Stage Company are having so much fun with Broadway Bounty Hunter that they've created some digital trading cards for the all of the characters in the show!

Broadway Bounty Hunter, a new musical which opened at Barrington Stage Company on August 19th, celebrates the history of B-list movies and modern musical theatre by blending them together in hilarious fashion. At the center of this high-antic musical is Joe Iconis' psychedelic score- a surreal composure in lush form thanks to Charlie Rosen's orchestrations. Broadway Bounty Hunter proves musical theatre reaches its apex when risk is taken and boundaries are broken.

The world premiere of Broadway Bounty Hunter, took place at Barrington Stage Company last night and Broadwayworld was there for the opening night festivities at the Sydelle & Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center. Broadway Bounty Hunter features music and lyrics by Joe Iconis (Be More Chill, The Black Suits, Bloodsong of Love), book by Joe Iconis, Lance Rubin (author of Denton Little's Deathdate) and Jason SweetTooth Williams (Off Broadway: Once Upon A Mattress), and choreography by Jeffrey Page (Broadway's Violet). Joel Waggoner (BSC's Presto Change-O, Southern Comfort) serves as music director.

This week (Friday, August 19), "Orange is the New Black" actor Annie Golden (inset), stage director Tina Packerand Connecticut Guild Artist Anne K. Mulligan are slated as guests on State of the ARTS, which airs LIVE each Friday from 12noon to 1pm on WPKN-FM (89.5) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Co-hosts of the weekly arts & entertainment program are Richard Pheneger and Peggy Nelson.
