As part of New York Voices, Joe's Pub at The Public presents Jomama Jones's Black Light, a work-in-progress created by Daniel Alexander Jones, featuring songs co-composed with longtime collaborator Bobby Halvorson and musical direction by pianist Samora Pinderhughes.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the monthly gathering of the International Order of Sodomites, the centuries-old organization which sets the mythic Gay Agenda - will return to OASIS (298 Eleventh Street, San Francisco CA) for a fifth appearance on Saturday, November 5 at 7:00 PM. The performance will celebrate the release of Sayre's debut comedy album  The Gay Agenda, which is available on iTunes, the show's website and at upcoming appearances. The New York run of The Meeting*, which just opened its eights and final season at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, has been sold out since the New York Times "Arts & Leisure" piece ran September 2014. Special musical guests for the Oasis performance will be Matthew Martin and Intensive Claire. Tickets are $20 and are available at SFOasis.com.

The October 2016 edition will both celebrate 'The Gay Agenda' - the debut comedy album from Justin Sayre - and pay homage to Bette Midler. Special guests include Beth Malone, Nathan Lee Graham, Katie Thompson and Amber Martin.

I don't think I've ever seen a bad Teatro ZinZanni show. I mean I really don't think there could be one unless they inexplicably decided to sit on the stage and blankly stare at the audience for three hours while serving us large plates of runny eggs and sour milk. Teatro ZinZanni shows are always a good bet for an evening of bliss and their current offering, 'Welcome to Wonderland' is no exception.

SPARKLE & CIRCULATE with JUSTIN SAYRE - the official monthly podcast of the International Order of Sodomites - has posted its new episode, which features an interview with vocalist and songwriter Carol Lipnik. Called "an ethereal vocal phenomenon' by The New York Times, Lipnik tells Justin about her latest album "Almost Back to Normal," her Sundaynight residency at the downtown NYC club Pangea, and her influences from Mothra to Laura Nyro. She and Justin wax rhapsodic about Tennessee Williams, the 13th Century poet Rumi and B-movies of the 50s. Plus, Justin offers some simple tips on staying cool, calm and collected during the summer. SPARKLE & CIRCULATE was recently named among the "10 Comedy Podcasts You Should Listen To" by Backstage. Alt-cabaret star Lady Rizo (aka Amelia Zirin-Brown) made her way to the stage to join her multi-instrumental accompanist, Yair Evnine. Threading regally through the audience, she held a translucent umbrella over her head, singing (my favorite Prince song) 'The Beautiful Ones' to Evnine's cello in a beautifully powerful, dusky-toned voice. Her terrific new show, Multiplied (continuing at Joe's Pub on July 25 and 26) is a meditation on modern motherhood, specifically what it means for an artist accustomed to the nomadic freedom of a life on tour to settle into life as a new parent.
