Theatro São Pedro premieres the season of the opera The Seven Deadly Sins, by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht.

On December 10, ZOHO Music, a latin, jazz, and rock indie CD label, is releasing the studio recorded CD version of My Ship: Songs From 1941, which Dawn Derow will celebrate with a One-Night-Only return of the award-winning show at New York's Green Room 42 on January 15, 2022 at 7 pm.

The Fred Ebb Foundation will present the seventeenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to the team of Isabella Dawis & Tidtaya Sinutoke. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented on Monday January 3rd, 2022, at a by-invitation-only ceremony at Birdland Jazz Club

Theatro Sao Pedro premieres the satirical ballet chante The Seven Deadly Sins, the last collaboration between Kurt Weil and Bertolt Brecht. The production will be musically directed by Ira Levin, who will command the Theatro Sao Pedro Orchestra. The Seven Deadly Sins opens on November 5th. In all, there will be 8 recitals until the 14th.

The Playwrights Realm, in partnership with law firm Dyer Harris LLP, announces playwright and performer Nkenna Akunna; costume designer Dina El-Aziz; actor and writer Isra Elsalihie; playwright, director, and scenographer Abhishek Majumdar; and composer Tidtaya Sinutoke (ฑิตยา สินุธก) as the recipients of the 2021 International Theatermakers Award (ITA).

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced a robust slate of playwright commissions through Manhattan Theatre Club's new partnership with the Edgerton Foundation, as well as a new round of commissions supported by ongoing partnerships with Bobbie Olsen and other donors.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has announced the cast and creative team for Tony Award-nominated August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, directed by Tazewell Thompson (Arena’s Jubilee).

Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the celebrated chorus’ 80th season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. One of the highlights includes a semi-staged concert production of the cult-favorite musical, Stephen Sondheim’s and Arthur Laurents’ Anyone Can Whistle, starring Vanessa Williams.

Directed by  Nicholas Viselli , with musical direction by  Dionne McClaine-Freeney, BRECHT ON BRECHT  will begin performance on October 19 and will celebrate its opening night on Thursday, October 28, 2021, running through November 20, 2021, at  A.R.T./ NY Theatre  ( 502 West 53rd Street, NYC).  

A free, open rehearsal of DEAR MR. C will be presented at Open Jar Studios on October 30th at 1:30pm EST as part of the Award Program. Cast features Sy Chounchaisit, Lily Ali-Oshatz, Francesca Dawis, Katelynn Kenney, and Charles Pang.

Maestro Andreas Delfs returns on October 21 & 23 to conduct the RPO in Kurt Weill's Suite from The Threepenny Opera, which showcases American jazz's influence in 1920s Europe and features instrumentation that includes the banjo, bandoneon, and a trap set.

Theater Breaking Through Barriers, the only professional Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to advancing artists and developing audiences of people with disabilities, will return to Off-Broadway with the timeless revue – Brecht on Brecht.
