The Drama League (Executive Director Gabriel Shanks; Artistic Director Roger T. Danforth) will honor five-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald at The Drama League's 29th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway, on February 11, 2013 at the famed Pierre Hotel (2 East 61st Street). According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly is currently in talks to renew GLEE for a fifth season. He revealed: 'Yes, that is a real possibility; we're going to negotiate now for the fifth season and beyond, so we're talking about those things now.'

David Sisco (Founder/Creator) and Lorene Phillips (Contributing Editor) will officially launch their now acclaimed DIRECTORY OF CONTEMPORARY THEATRE WRITERS website with a musical event of remarkable proportions, on Monday, January 21 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43 Street - between Eighth & Ninth Avenues).

Today, we're featuring Douglas Sills circa 1998. Sills made his Broadway debut in 1997's The Scarlet Pimpernel. Continuing the role in three other versions of the show, Sills received a Tony Award nomination. In 2004, Sills joined the Broadway-bound Chicago production of Monty Python's Spamalot. However, before the production began, Sills left on his own account due to reported 'major script changes.' In 2009, Sills starred opposite Kristin Chenoweth at the New York City Center production of Music in the Air.

Chiller kicks off a new year of scary good programming with the debut of its first original special of 2013, Chiller 13: Most Horrifying Hookups. In addition, this winter the network will feature two new-to-Chiller debuts with R.L. Stine's The Nightmare Room and cult favorite Pushing Daisies, which marks the first re-air of this series since its original run.

New Year's Eve 2012 will always be a memorable one for those who attended the "Evening with Kristin Chenoweth" at the Eccles Center in Park City. The sold-out concert, presented as a fundraiser for The Park City Performing Arts Foundation, was a thoroughly entertaining showcase of the Tony and Emmy winner's spectacular and unique voice.

As expected (thankfully) 2012 provided Southern California audiences--specifically here in Orange County and nearby Los Angeles and San Diego--a season full of outstanding, remarkable theater offerings from touring companies, impressive regional productions, and even some tiny black box theaters. And, of course, as is the common practice during the ushering of a new year, the enjoyable past-time of putting together a year-end 'best of' list is something contributor Michael Lawrence Quintos truly looks forward to doing, especially when there's a plethora of great work to choose from--many of which he had the pleasure of reviewing exclusively for BroadwayWorld.

The special just aired on Great Performances yesterday, January 1 on PBS. Click below to watch!

Eric Idle's cheeky lyric, which unfailingly generated knowing guffaws from Broadway audiences, proves to be more than a little grounded in truth, as BROADWAY MUSICALS: A JEWISH LEGACY convincingly attests.

In a recent interview with Deseret News, Broadway favorite Chenoweth revealed that her February 15 American Songbook concert will be taped for PBS. She told DN: 'The show will be very, very simple but will celebrate the classic American songs we know and love. I'm very honored to do the show for PBS. I'm glad there still is a PBS, if I can say that. PBS gives performers the opportunity to do things that they aren't always able to do and share this with the audience.' There has been no word yet on an airdate for the concert.
