Lovable plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad has only one desire - to dance. And dance she does through her downtrodden neighborhood, through the harsh put-downs of her schoolmates, and through the racial barriers dividing 1960s Baltimore. When she gets the chance to be a dancer on the "Corny Collins TV Show," Tracy ignites a rock 'n roll revolution among her friends, defuses racial tensions, and finds love against all odds. Big heart...big hair...and a great big hit! Winner of 2003 Ton Awards including Best Musical!
Started in 1998, Spotlight Theatre Company begins its 19th season this August. After beginning in Westminster, they made their home in the quaint 70 seat theatre in the West Colfax E-vents Center located in the heart of Lakewood and in 2008 made the move to Old Towne Lowry to the John Hand Theater in Colorado Free University.
Few shows capture the glamour and spectacle of the original Ziegfeld Follies as well as 42nd Street. The elaborate showgirl numbers and huge dancing choruses were the stuff of legend, and provided the inspiration for many gaudy Broadway musicals. While the show mocks some of the silliness of the original art, it pays homage to the core glitz and sparkle of the Ziegfeld productions, and keeps the audience tapping their toes throughout.

Pocket Utopia is pleased to present its first solo exhibition of photographs by Kris Graves. For the past three years, Graves has focused his camera directly on Iceland and its isolation and independence. Iceland is alone in a cold sea, sparsely populated; its volcanic visage is harsh and unrelenting. Discovering, via one (mostly) drivable road, and finding what's missing from the known story, Graves shows us this Iceland.
