This concert will honor the unique relationships between LGBT people and their mother's. This new benefit concert is sure to become a staple in the community.

Songwriter Paul Williams was elected President and Chairman of the Board of ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) today by the ASCAP Board of Directors at its meeting in Nashville, TN.

Camp Broadway, under the direction of Artistic Director Tony Parise, has been selected to perform the parade's closing number, 'I Believe in Santa Claus' with music written by Wesley Whatley and lyrics by Bill Schermerhorn, Macy's Creative Director.

Camp Broadway, the award-winning theater arts education and audience development company and American icon, Kermit the Frog, will lead 300 performance-loving kids, ages 10-17, in an original Closing number 'I Believe in Santa Claus,' live in the 82nd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will be televised on NBC-TV on November 27, 2008 beginning at 9am. Richard Griffiths, currently starring in the hit Broadway production of EQUUS, will appear at the annual Macy's Herald Square Tree Lighting this Sunday, November 23 at 6:30 p.m. on Broadway between 34th & 35th Streets. Griffiths will be reading the classic holiday poem 'The Night Before Christmas.' Also set to appear at the live event in Herald Square are Kermit the Frog, Grandma from the Big Apple Circus, The Mistletones, and a special appearance by Santa Claus. In addition to the display of Macy's famed Tree of Lights, their 2008 holiday windows will be unveiled.
