Veteran television comedienne Sally Struthers is working overtime to bring much needed laughs to an otherwise hit or miss production of Dolly Parton's '9 to 5: The Musical' at Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine

Matthew Ashford Joins Ogunquit Playhouse's 9 TO 5 as 'Franklin' thru Sept 15

Daytime Emmy Award nominee, Matthew Ashford joins Sally Struthers and the cast of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 the Musical as Franklin Hart Jr. in the Ogunquit Playhouse production. Fresh from his recent topple into an elevator shaft as Jack Devereaux on NBC's daytime drama, "Days of Our Lives," Mr. Ashford will perform the role of the egotistical, lying and hypocritical boss through September 15th.

When their plan spins wildly out of control the situation becomes hilarious and the laughter is non-stop. The show features the blockbuster title song plus a jubilant score by multiple Grammy Award winner Dolly Parton that mixes Broadway and pop with Dolly's irresistible style. Carson Kressley (Mr. Applegate) is devilishly delicious, providing a subtle playing field for the entire cast to play on. The audience delights in the Kressley-isms sprinkled throughout. Kressley's vocals and comedic timing prove that he can do more than just make people look fashionably good.

Carson Kressley Stars in Ogunquit Playhouse’s Revised DAMN YANKEES, Now thru 8/18

Hot off his run in "Dancing with the Stars," Emmy-winning television star, celebrity stylist, author and fashion designer, Carson Kressley will return to the Ogunquit Playhouse as Mr. Applegate (aka the Devil himself!) in the 2012 production of Damn Yankees (the new Boston Red Sox version!), on stage tonight, July 25 - August 18. This summer the Ogunquit Playhouse is celebrating its 80th anniversary of producing award-winning theatre in Southern Maine. Carson Kressley was last seen at the Ogunquit Playhouse in his critically acclaimed performance as Man in Chair during the 2010 run of The Drowsy Chaperone.

Photo Flash: President George H.W. Bush & Barbara Bush Visit Ogunquit Playhouse's ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE

President George HW Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush honored the Ogunquit Playhouse by attending yesterday's (June 3rd) Matinee performance of Always, Patsy Cline, now playing through June 16. Sally Struthers (as Louise) and Carter Calvert (as Patsy Cline) welcomed them backstage during intermission, where President and Mrs. Bush exalted both leading lady's performances. The former President and First Lady "loved" the show, and the cast, musicians and audience members loved seeing them as well. Check out the photo below!

Ogunuit Playhouse Kicks Off 2012 Season with ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE, 5/24

The 80th Anniversary Season at the Ogunquit Playhouse kicks off with Always, Patsy Cline, on stage from May 23 through June 16. This show is told through the letters of star-struck fan Louise Seger, portrayed by Emmy Award winning actress, Sally Struthers. This popular musical, which has enjoyed great success both off-Broadway and across the nation, is based on the true story of Cline's friendship with Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961 and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death. Featuring the unforgettable hits of the Country Music mega-star, this funny and touching tribute celebrates the career and life of the singer who died tragically in a plane crash in 1963. "Crazy," "I Fall to Pieces," "Sweet Dreams" and "Walking After Midnight" are just a few of the 27 featured songs.

The Ogunquit Playhouse Receives Ten IRNE Award Nominations

The Ogunquit Playhouse announced that it has received ten Independent Reviewers of New England Award (IRNE) Nominations for its 2011 production of Miss Saigon, including Best Musical in the "Large Theatre" category.

The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards recognize the extraordinary wealth of talent in the Boston theatre community, and this year's nominations have just been announced. IRNE Reviewers include among others David Brooks Andrews, Sheila Barth, Jules Becker, Kay Bourne, Beverly Creasey, Shirley Esthimer, Richard Fahey, Guy Giampapa, Norm Gross, Nancy Grossman, Bryce Lambert, Beatrice Lee, Kilian Melloy and Larry Stark.
