Getting up on stage by yourself is, to say the least, a daunting task. If you forget a line, or a bit of staging, there's no one there to turn to other than you. So it's a good thing we have such amazing talent here in Seattle to pull it off. This is why Theatre Off Jackson is back with their 5th annual Solo Performance Festival (SPF #5). And while I was only able to catch two of the seven acts running over the next few weeks, if the others are anything like these two, then who needs a full cast as these performers have enough talent and energy for 100 people.
The Solo Performance Festival returns for its fourth year March 3 - April 3rd. SPF #4 Can You Get My Back? and Theatre Off Jackson partner with solo artists to bring live original works in theatre, music and dance to Seattle including sixteen original shows of varying lengths, eight world premieres, three shorts nights and two late night monologue slams hosted by Teatro Zinzanni's Kevin Kent at the Canoe Social Club.
Solo Performance Festival (SPF #4: Can You Get My Back) presented by Theatre Off Jackson is the fourth installment of Seattle's annual solo performance festival, and is dedicated to presenting fearless, cutting-edge, diverse performances by solo theatre artists.

Come hear stories of sexual misadventure, accidental arson, bad dates, sheep-tossing (which is not a euphemism), scars gained, condoms lost, unfortunately named drinks, and much, much more.
Annex Theatre presents their fall late-night production HOT PANTS! Every Friday and Saturday night, four local performers will tell their own autobiographical story -- but one of them is lying. Then a panel of five, randomly selected audience members will get to interrogate the storytellers to see if they can figure out who's the liar. Everyone who guesses correctly wins a prize!

As a performer, emcee, party hostess, and event promoter Ben DeLaCreme has appeared in theaters and nightclubs from coast to coast ever since the fateful day in 2002 when s/he realized that normally unsavory behavior could be dressed up in fancy clothes and called 'Performance Art.' Formerly based in Chicago, but with lucite heels now planted firmly in Seattle, DeLaCreme combines hir background in the performing & visual arts with a love of spectacle, glamour, and Saturday morning cartoons to create a thick sludge of sparkly entertainment certain to stick to your ribs! When not at home looking for new things to glue rhinestones to, DeLaCreme can be found Emceeing and Performing in venues throughout Seattle, as well as teaching with the Academy of Burlesque.
