Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and with additional sponsorship by the New York Times, the event will take place on Saturday, July 14 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m.

On June 28, Tony's di Napoli Restaurant in Times Square added a new portrait to their outstanding Broadway Wall of Fame honoring the cast of the new Broadway musical, Nice Work If You Can Get It, starring Matthew Broderick, Kelli O'Hara, Michael McGrath, Judy Kaye, Estelle Parsons, Chris Sullivan and Jennifer Laura Thompson. Hosts Valerie Smaldone and Bruce Dimpflmaier presented the Dan May portrait to the show's stars in an intimate ceremony, and BroadwayWorld was there for the photo op!

According to an Equity casting notice, Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman and David Pomeranz new musical, THE AIMEE PROJECT will open on Broadway sometime this fall at a theater to be announced. According to the notice, David Armstrong will helm, alongside Joel Fram as the musical director and Lorin Latarro as the choreographer. Rehearsals are listed as beginning in September of 2012.
