Sir Simon Rattle to Conclude 'Perspectives' Series at Carnegie Hall This Fall

Esteemed conductor Sir Simon Rattle concludes his two-season Perspectives series at Carnegie Hall this fall, leading four concerts with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Ensemble Connect, and the Berliner Philharmoniker. Maestro Rattle launched his Perspectives series last November, leading the Berliner Philharmoniker in a Beethoven symphony cycle over five consecutive days.

THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO Begins Fourth Year of Merola Opera Program's Film Screenings

The Merola Opera Program and the San Francisco Public Library Main Branch present a free screening of Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) at the next Merola Goes to the Movies, on Sunday, September 11th, 1:00 pm, in the Koret Auditorium of the San Francisco Public Library Main Branch (100 Larkin Street). Admission is free.

Magdalena Kozena to Make New York Philharmonic Debut This Fall

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Berlioz's Les Nuits d'ete, with mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožena in her Philharmonic debut, and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 30 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m.
