The multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHoAce) announces that the world premiere play, ONE NOVEMBER YANKEE, written and directed by Joshua Ravetch and starring two-time Emmy winner Loretta Swit and four-time Golden Globe nominee Harry Hamlin will be adapted into a feature film, written by Joshua Ravetch for Pam Williams Productions. The play, which is now extended thru Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the NoHo Arts Center, stars veteran actors Lorreta Swit and Harry Hamlin as siblings who discover the wreckage of a single engine plane crash years after the accident has occurred.
Two-character plays for the most part take flight - no pun intended - if the plot and dialogue are terribly funny, as in Bernard Slade's Same Time, Next Year or if it's a musical, like I Do! I Do! The writing and players must have that extra special something to engage the audience consistently for two hours. World premiere One November Yankee, by its premise alone, is intriguing. Its art imitating life theme brings two pairs of siblings to life and juxtaposes them with the brother and sister of the main plot, making Joshua Ravetch's play an overall curiously positive experience...and it's not without several sprinklings of genuine humor. On top of that, it has two exceedingly appealing stars, ageless Harry Hamlin and Loretta Swit, who have the chance to create three roles each. One November Yankee, now onstage at NoHo Arts, may not be the greatest play ever written, but certainly manages to entertain as well as provoke.

Due to an achilles injury, Dick Van Dyke will be unable to perform in his upcoming show Dick Van Dyke - Step in Time! - A Musical Memoir at the Geffen Playhouse. Van Dyke shared, 'I very much wish that circumstances allowed me to share my stories at the Geffen this winter. Unfortunately, this injury is forcing me to be off my feet for a while. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to revisit this sometime in the future, but in the meantime, I thank everyone for their understanding and support.'
