Antonio Pappano to Conduct the New York Philharmonic

Antonio Pappano will return to the Philharmonic to conduct Britten's Piano Concerto (1945 version), with The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Leif Ove Andsnes as soloist; Saint-Sa ns's Symphony No. 3, Organ, with Philharmonic organist Kent Tritle; and Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, February 10 at 8:00 p.m.

American Classical Orchestra Performs Six Baroque Concerti With Violinist Stephanie Chase

On Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 8pm, American Classical Orchestra, the nation's premier orchestra dedicated to period instrument performance' (Vulture), celebrates the virtuosic violin concerti of great Baroque masters at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. The program features acclaimed violinist and expert period instrumentalist, Stephanie Chase, in six concerti: Handel's Concerto Grosso in B-flat Major, Opus 6, No. 7; J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin in A Minor, BWV 1041; Muffat's Concerto Grosso in G Major, 'Perseverantia'; Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, BWV 1043 with Orchestra of St. Luke's concertmaster violinist Krista Bennion Feeney; Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, BWV 1048; and Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins in B Minor, RV 580 with violinists Krista Bennion Feeney, Theresa Salomon, and Karen Dekker.

Orchestra Of St. Luke's 2018 Winter Spring Season To Offer 43 Performances

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) 43rd season continues in 2018 with 43 performances in 10 venues throughout New York City. The winter spring calendar offers wide-ranging programs from intimate chamber music concerts devoted to Baroque, Classical, and Romantic repertoire to a world premiere at Carnegie Hall by one of today's most lauded composers. Additionally, the Orchestra will play music for a legendary dance institution's Lincoln Center season and collaborate with a renowned choral group on a program that juxtaposes an established work with a new, dramatic oratorio based on the Orpheus myth.

Bernard Labadie Makes First NYC Appearance With Orchestra Of St. Luke's

The second of Orchestra of St. Luke's Carnegie Hall series concerts this season takes place today, December 7 at 8PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Leading the Ensemble in a program of works by Kraus, Mozart, and Beethoven is Bernard Labadie making his Orchestra of St. Luke's New York City debut as the Principal Conductor Designate. Bernard Labadie's appointment as Principal Conductor of OSL was announced in May 2017 and he will officially assume the post at the start of the ensemble's 2018/2019 season.

Eliot Fisk Transcribes Bach Cello Suites For Guitar at VPAC, 12/6

CITY OF SCIENCE to Bring Exploration to Kids in All Five Boroughs of NYC

Columbus Symphony Extends Contract Of Music Director Rossen Milanov Through 2025

Columbus Symphony Board Chair Lisa Barton announced that the contract of Music Director Rossen Milanov has been extended through the 2024-25 season. The new extension commits Milanov through the 2024-25 season, solidifies the relationship with the CSO, and enables him to invest a cumulative nine years into advancing the CSO's mission and vision in the central Ohio community and beyond.
