New York Magazine reports that 'Glee' will no longer see a FOX reality competition in which hopefuls battle it out 'American Idol'-style for a role on the show. Ryan Murphy, creator and executive producer, has decided to keep his attention on writing the second and third seasons of the show, both ordered by FOX this spring. According to the report, FOX did not argue with his decision due to the fact that 'Glee' has confirmed its popularity through two #1 albums, a sold-out concert tour, and a season finale viewed by nearly 11 million.

Despite reports that GLEE could end up hitting the big screen from HollywoodLife, series creator Ryan Murphy claims that no movie is currently in the works. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, all series regulars have signed a contract requiring participation in up to three feature films for 20th Century Fox. The contracts, signed in 2008 before filming began on the pilot episode, state that '[the actor] hereby grants Fox three exclusive, irrevocable options to engage [the actor] in up to, respectively, three feature length motion pictures.'
Jonathan Groff performed a concert at Joe's Pub on June 20th in New York City.
