Celebrity blogger and television personality Perez Hilton checked out the smash Off-Broadway hit SILENCE! The Musical this past Friday evening, August 31st at the brand new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Afterward he tweeted, 'Saw SILENCE! in NYC. Loved! GLEE returns to television on September 13 with a handful of new castmembers, including: Dean Geyer as Brody Weston, Melissa Benoist as Marley Rose, and Becca Tobin as Kitty, Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker. GYPSY Opens Fulton Theatre's 160th Anniversary Season, 9/11-30

The historic Fulton Theatre in downtown Lancaster launches its 2012/2013 season with Gypsy, often held up by critics as the best book musical written in the 20th century. Gypsy is loosely based on the memoirs of vaudeville and burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee, with music by Jule Styne, lyrics Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. It features some of the best-known and loved musical songs, such as 'Everything's Coming up Roses,' 'Some People,' 'Let Me Entertain You' and 'Rose's Turn.'

Davis Gaines and More Star in SILENCE! THE MUSICAL's West Coast Premiere at Hayworth Theatre Tonight, 8/31

Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! The Musical the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli, will open a Los Angeles company with performances beginning tonight, August 31, at the Hayworth Theatre. This engagement marks the West Coast Premiere of the Off-Broadway hit. The press opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2012. SILENCE! The Musical is produced by Theater Mogul.

Justin Brill + Kef Theatrical Productions Present METHTACULAR, Now thru 9/23

kef theatrical productions previously announced its partnership with Justin Brill (WICKED national tour) to present a four-week run of Steven Strafford's METHTACULAR! The production will run at the Playroom Theatre at 151 West 46th Street in New York beginning tonight, August 30th. The show is currently slated to run through September 23rd.

Many plays with an art theme have been written over the past decades, chief among them Yasmina Reza's Art, which shows the positive and negative effects of art on everyday life, but in John Logan's Red, it is the artist (Mark Rothko) himself who holds court, and the audience shares his space with him for two hours. This intimate exposure is awe-inspiring as lyrically expressed by John Logan, and is fiercely conveyed by Alfred Molina as Rothko and Jonathan Groff as Ken his 'employee' on the Taper stage through September 9.
