Photo Flash: Meet the Full Cast of Roundabout's MACHINAL

Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20, 2013 ahead of an official opening on January 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. Public Theater Extends GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS Through 12/1

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience have announced an additional one-week extension for the American premiere of GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS, part of The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, written by Wallace Shawn. Directed by Andre Gregory, GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS opened on Monday, October 28 and will now run an additional week through Sunday, December 1.

David Drake's TAWNY, TELL ME TRUE! Begins Tonight at the Laurie Beechman

Obie Award-winning playwright/performer David Drake, who most recently headlined an all-star ensemble benefit of his landmark show The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS last spring, returns to the New York stage with TAWNY, TELL ME TRUE. Written by and starring Drake, this drag tragicomedy with music will be directed by Robert La Fosse (Tony Award nominee for Jerome Robbins' Broadway) featuring musical direction by Lance Cruce (Joan River's longtime pianist, Karen Finley's Make Love), original music by Trevor Kuprel, and video by Ned Stresen Reuter. Performances begin October 19th at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Thomas Dolby Takes Live Show on U.S. Tour, Beg. Today

Thomas Dolby, the multi-Grammy nominated artist and producer, takes his new live show - part film, part concert, part transmedia event - on the road this fall. Each show will be a unique event that cannot be replicated outside of Dolby's theater performance.

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience have announced a two-week extension today for the American premiere of GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS, part of The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, written by Wallace Shawn. Directed by Andre Gregory, GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORSbegins previews tonight and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, November 10. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 24, with an official press opening on Monday, October 28.

AMC Developing WALKING DEAD Companion Series

AMC announced today that the network is in the initial stages of developing a companion series to its original drama series The Walking Dead, which premiered on AMC in October of 2010. The Walking Dead is currently the #1 show on television among adults 18-49. Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert are on board as executive producers, with AMC Studios set to produce. The companion series has a target on-air date of 2015.

'The Birdcage,' director Mike Nichols' Americanized adaptation of Jean Poiret's popular French farce 'La Cage Aux Folles' (with a screenplay by Nichols' former comic partner Elaine May, based on the play and the original 1978 French film's screenplay by Francis Veber, Edouard Molinaro, Marcello Danon, and Poiret), airs on Reel 13 on Saturday, September 14.

Public Theater Presents Three Screenings for THE WALLACE SHAWN-ANDRE GREGORY PROJECT This Weekend

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience will present three special screenings of Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory's most beloved films, Andre Gregory: Before and After Dinner, Vanya on 42nd Street, and My Dinner With Andre, at Joe's Pub at The Public in August. These three screenings are presented as part of the current retrospective, The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, celebrating the 40-year collaboration between these two artists.

Anne Hathaway, Candia Fisher & More Join Public Theater's Board of Trustees

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, Executive Director Patrick Willingham, and Chairman of the Board Warren Spector have announced the addition of seven new members to The Public's Board of Trustees. Candia Fisher, Anne Hathaway, Debby Landesman, Barbara Manocherian, and Audrey Wilf were appointed to the 40-person board in April for three-year terms, and Charlotte Relyea and Anne Clarke Wolff were appointed in June for three-year terms. A recent loss to the Board is the passing of long time Board member Nora Ephron who was honored for her service to the organization and the field at The Public's 2013 Gala this past June.

Peter Cambor and More Star in Commonwealth Shakespeare's TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, Beg. Tonight

One of Greater Boston's most beloved traditions, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's 'Free Shakespeare On The Common' celebrates its 18th season with the comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Inspired by Rat Pack-era Vegas, this production brings together the talents of CSC's Artistic Director Steve Maler, music director Colin Thurmond and choreographer Yo-el Cassel.
