Highly regarded for popularizing traditional Irish folk music across the world, “The Chieftains” bring their bagpipes, banjos and exciting musicality to Pacific Symphony Pops for an extension of this year's St. Patrick's Day celebrations! Co-founder Paddy Moloney and his band have won six Grammy Awards, released 58 albums and performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Great Wall of China. By collaborating with contemporary musicians across multiple genres—Pavarotti, Van Morrison, Ziggy Marley and Elvis Costello, to name a few—The Chieftains have enjoyed more than 50 years at the top of the modern music charts. February 25, 2015 – Chattanooga, TN The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Youth Orchestras (CSOYO) continue their 2014/15 season on March 9 at 7:30pm at Brainerd Baptist Church with a concert performed by the CSOYO Symphony with Gary Wilkes conducting, featuring An American in Paris by George Gershwin and Polovtsian Dances by Alexander Borodin. Gershwin's orchestral masterpiece, featured in the MGM movie of the same title, takes us musically through the streets and shops of Paris as American tourists gawk and take in the wonderful sights, from the Eiffel Tower to Montmartre (listen for the French taxi horns). Borodin's wonderful dances from his opera Prince Igor are still delightful to listeners today. It is Russian music at its best with beautiful exotic melodies and powerful rhythms.

Pacific Symphony suits up for an action-packed musical adventure of crime-fighting fun as Family Musical Mornings continues with “Superheroes!” By harnessing the power of music, Captain Symphony (Daniel Emmett) and his family of superheroes, The Winged Woodwind (Diane Manaster) and Super String (Stephanie Draude), defeat the malevolent Percussionator (Ron Banks), who is trying to tear apart the orchestra!

Directed by Marc Bruni, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical has book by Douglas McGrath with words and music by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

Veteran cabaret performer Raissa Katona Bennett and Musical Director Kenneth Gartman are very good friends who for the past few years have been performing together in what might be called the cabaret equivalent of movie shorts. But with 3Decades in the Dark: Raissa and Kenneth Go to the Movies (a five-show run that ended Feb. 21 at the Laurie Beechman Theater), Bennett and Gartman have finally presented their first feature length duo cabaret show. Both performers have garnered praise as individual performers in musical theater and cabaret. Bennett, who is the charming producer and host of the Award-winning Concerts for City Greens at Tudor City, once played Christine in Phantom of the Opera, and has performed solo shows at venues such as the old Feinstein's. Gartman, who recently musically directed The White City in concert at 54 Below, presented a highly praised solo show in 2011. Sounds like a match made in cabaret heaven, right?

Youthful musicality soars as both Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble (PSYWE) and Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra (PSYO) perform a phenomenal range of music for their spring concerts.
