The Garden Theatre Presents A Blues Evening 4/17

The Garden Theatre is pleased to present A Blues Evening, on Saturday, April 17 at 8pm at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). Produced by Jeff Willey (formerly of The Smokin' Torpedoes), this show is the Part VIII in a series of blues concerts in and around Central Florida.

CD/DVD Recordings Of Eric Woolfson's POE Set For April Release In U.S.

Following the recent death of the legendary songwriter and creator of the internationally-renowned Alan Parsons Project, Eric Woolfson, the late composer's musical POE -- about the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe -- is being introduced in the U.S. with the release of the CD, 'POE,' and DVD, 'POE, The World Premiere Showcase Performance at Abbey Road Studios' on April 6, 2010.

Lantern Theater Company Presents William Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part I, Directed by Charles McMahon, April 1 – May 2, 2010

Lantern Theater Company concludes its 2009/10 mainstage season with the rarely performed Henry IV, Part I. In the tradition of the Lantern's darkly comic, Barrymore Award-winning production of Richard III, this gripping, ripping plot from William Shakespeare's history canon features a cast of local actors and battles royale that will transport you to another time and place. Previews begin April 1, opening night is Wednesday, April 7 at 7pm, and the closing performance is May 2, 2010.

Lady Gaga, one of the most exciting and innovative new artists in recent history, has announced her highly anticipated return to North America on the heels of her sold-out European tour. John Standing and Barb Jungr to Play Café Carlyle, 2/23-3/6

Two of Britain's most innovative and acclaimed performers will bring their very different styles to the Café Carlyle later this month. Beloved star of stage and screen, John Standing, will make his Café Carlyle debut with his one-man show, 'Performing Noël Coward' from February 23 through March 6. London singing sensation Barb Jungr is returning to the legendary venue with an all new show. 'River' will play six (6) performances only from February 25 to March 6, and will launch a new series of late-night shows designed to provide an attractive new entertainment option for the Café Carlyle's sophisticated clientele.

Byham Theatre Celebrates Black History Month with Ladysmith Black Mambazo 2/28

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust culminates Black History Month with its regular Showcase Noir: African American Artist and Designer Exhibit and Sale and the special presentation of Grammy-award-winning South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Showcase Noir opens at 11am on Sunday, February 28, in the Byham Theater lobby. Ladysmith Black Mambazo performance closes the evening with their 7 p.m. performance in the theater. Cohen & Grigsby is the season sponsor of the 2009-2010 Trust Presents series.
