Connie Britton To Lead Bravo Media's Scripted Anthology Series DIRTY JOHN

Four-time Emmy-nominee Connie Britton (“9-1-1,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Nashville”) has signed on to star in the first season of Bravo Media's scripted anthology series DIRTY JOHN, based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard. The series tells the true story of how a romance with the charismatic John Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation. Britton will lead as Debra Newell, a successful interior designer and single mom from Orange County who falls in love with John Meehan. Britton will also serve as an executive producer.

NBCUniversal Lifestyle Networks Strikes Multi-Project Deal For Bravo and Oxygen Media

Bravo Media has greenlit a two season, straight to series order for the scripted anthology series, 'Dirty John,' from Universal Cable Productions (UCP), it was announced today by Frances Berwick, President, Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. From UCP, in association with Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment, and based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast 'Dirty John' from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, the series, which will be written and executive produced by Alexandra Cunningham, tells the story of how a romance with the charismatic John Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial, manipulation, and ultimately, survival - with horrific consequences for an entire family.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim Announces American Ballet Theatre's WHIPPED CREAM

On Sunday and Monday, April 30 and May 1, 2017 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents performance highlights and discussion on American Ballet Theatre's newest production, Whipped Cream by Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky in collaboration with pop surrealist Mark Ryden.  Ratmansky and moderator John Meehan will discuss the new work and ABT dancers will perform excerpts prior to the New York premiere.

ABT Alumni to Attend Performance of GISELLE This Weekend

American Ballet Theatre will welcome over 200 former Company members as part of a 75th Anniversary alumni weekend. The weekend will include a special showing by the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School and a dancer seminar. The events will conclude with alumni attending a performance of Giselle today evening, May 23. The performance features Stella Abrera in her ABT debut as Giselle, opposite Guest Artist Vladimir Shkylarov as Albrecht and Veronika Part as Myrta.

INTERMEZZO Dance Company to Perform at Vassar College, 3/29-30

BWW Interviews: Daniel Mantei - None But the Lonely Heart

Daniel Mantei joined American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company in 2002 and became a member of American Ballet Theatre in 2003. Through his work, Mantei aims to explore themes of humanism by infusing classically inspired movement with an intention of anatomical and kinetic awareness. In his latest work, he collaborates with the Ensemble of the Romantic Century (ERC) representing some of the Tchaikovsky's balletic works through dance both choreographed and performed by Mantei.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim Announces Spring 2013 Season

Works & Process at the Guggenheim has announced its spring 2013 season. Since 1984, the performing-arts series has championed new works and offered audiences unprecedented access to leading creators and performers. Each intimate, 80-minute performance uniquely combines artistic creation and stimulating conversation and takes place in the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed, 285-seat Peter B. Lewis Theater, where new reserved seating is now offered. A reception for the audience and artists follows most programs. Described by the New York Times as "a popular series devoted to shedding light on the creative process," Works & Process is produced by founder Mary Sharp Cronson. Indianapolis City Ballet Launches Master Class Series

Young dancers in central Indiana can study with ballet greats by taking part in the Indianapolis City Ballet's Master Class Series. The 2012-2013 series, ICB's fourth season, is sponsored by philanthropists Jock and Penny Fortune and takes its first leap Sept. 9, 2012.

Photo Flash: QUEEN OF SPADES at the Met

A revival of Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades will open at the Met on March 11, with a cast led by Karita Mattila as Lisa, a role she sang in the production's 1995 premiere. Mattila's three co-stars are singing their roles for the first time at the Met: Vladimir Galouzine, one of the world's leading interpreters of Hermann; Swedish baritone Peter Mattei as his romantic rival Yeletsky; and dramatic mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick as the Countess. The energetic Latvian conductor Andris Nelsons leads the opera for the first time at the Met, in a revival of Elijah Moshinsky's 1995 staging. The opera, which is based on a Pushkin story, will also feature Tamara Mumford as Pauline and Alexey Markov as Tomsky.
