Performance Network's Late Night Friday Series Begins 11/14

Performance Network will begin its Late Night Friday series with two Open Stage nights on Friday, November 14 and 21 starting at 10 p.m.. Hosting the event on November 14 is local musician Logan White, followed by the Network's Artistic Director and awardwinning theatre artist Suzi Regan hosting on November 21. The 2014 Best New Artist winner, surfer, singer/songwriter and teen heartthrob, Cody Lovaas, will stroke the heartstrings of many high school students with a live performance and assembly to promote Performing Arts in schools, and discuss his 'Natural High' or alternative to drug and alcohol abuse by doing what he loves - music! This assembly, presented as part of the Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation's Arts in Education Initiative, will take place at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts today, October 15 at 10:00 AM.

The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), in association with Comedy Central, announced today the addition of more than 60 shows including Comics to Watch, the New York's Funniest Stand-Up competition finals, and events featuring Jim Gaffigan, Bob Odendkirk, Pete Holmes and Sommore. In addition NYCF in partnership with The Paley Center for Media announced three new dynamic panel discussions with the creative teams behind the hit shows "Late Show with David Letterman," "Inside Amy Schumer" and "Broad City;" The 11th annual festival runs from November 5 - 9 at more than 20 venues throughout New York City.

It's official! Barbra Streisand is the voice of a lifetime, OUR lifetime. Legendary singer Barbra Streisand has made music history yet again- this time for having ten of her albums reach #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Her latest album 'Partners,' was just released on September 16th from Columbia Records, and sold over 196,000+ copies in its first week. This makes Streisand the female artist with the most #1 albums and the first artist with #1's in each of the past six decades. It's no wonder she remains Broadway's greatest export.

For the first time since its wildly successful launch,? Comedy Central's newest late night hit '@midnight,'produced by Funny Or Die, will hit the road this fall, trading Silicon Beach for Silicon Alley. The social media sensation joins the stellar lineup of the 2014 New York Comedy Festival to tape a week of shows which will air Monday, November 3 throughThursday, November 6 at Midnight ET/PT.
Hosted by Chris Hardwick (@nerdist), the special NYCF week of episodes will include visual and textual nods to New York and feature a coterie of comedians playing fan favorites such as #HashtagWars, Rapid Refresh and Sweet Emoji. Barbra Streisand's latest album PARTNERS already soared to No. 1 on Amazon.com, and now according to Billboard.com, the duets CD is projected to hit the top slot on the Billboard 200 by the end of this week (as of September 21). This would be Streisand's 10th No. 1 album on the chart.
