Artistic Director Chay Yew and Managing Director Chris Mannelli announce a change to the 2014-2015 season: The World Premiere of An Issue of Blood by Marcus Gardley, directed by Chay Yew, will replace the previously announced World Premiere of A Wonder In My Soul. An Issue of Blood was penned by Gardley in response to recent events and social injustices. An Issue of Blood runs April 3 - May 3, 2015 with the press performance on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

2010 winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Play, RED by John Logan will be directed by Steve Scott, Artistic Associate, Goodman Theatre at the Redtwist Theatre. The production opens Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 3pm (also press opening), featuring Redtwist Company Members/Jeff Award-winners, Brian Parry and Aaron Kirby.

THE LAST SHIP will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24 at 8 p.m., but fans still have another chance to catch the cast in action. On March 2 (9:30PM) they will reunite at 54 Below for 'Songs in the Quay of Life: THE LAST SHIP Company in Concert.' The original cast and band will celebrate their run with an eclectic evening themed around seafaring songs. Proceeds will go to support Wallsend Boys Club in the north of England, which was founded by shipbuilders.

On a recent appearance on the GRAHAM NORTON SHOW, Tony award winner Eddie Redmayne recalled one of his first musical theater experiences, starring in a production of 'Oliver.'

THE LAST SHIP will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24 at 8 p.m., it has been announced by the musical's producers. The Last Ship began previews on Broadway on September 29 prior to its official opening on October 26, 2014. When the show concludes its 4-month engagement, it will have played 29 preview performances on Broadway and 105 regular performances at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) The Last Ship's music will live on with the Original Broadway Cast Recording, which was recently released on Universal Music Classics and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Cast Albums Chart last week.

The actor revealed that he did in fact audition for the role of Bilbo Baggins and tried his best to make an impression at his audition. Unfortunately he didn't get a call back.

I was able to catch a performance of THE LAST SHIP during previews. By intermission I knew I was looking forward to a cast recording of the musical, but I was largely uninterested in seeing the second act. I stuck it out and left inspired by the music and the cast's performances but entirely unmoved by the clunky book by John Logan and Brian Yorkey.

Today, December 23rd, Grammy Award winner STING will stop by LIVE WITH KELLY AND MICHAEL to chat about his Broadway musical, 'The Last Ship,' and perform a song from the production for the 'LIVE' audience.

A once-in-a-lifetime Broadway event took place yesterday, December 21, following the matinee performance of The Last Ship when patrons were invited to meet Sting and members of the cast on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) as they signed copies of the recently released Original Broadway Cast Recording. 16-time Grammy Award winning musician Sting, who now stars in The Last Ship (for which he also composed the score), was joined by cast mates Michael Esper, Rachel Tucker,Jimmy Nail,Fred Applegate, Aaron Lazar, Sally Ann Triplett and Collin Kelly-Sordelet. Ted Sperling will conduct the New York Philharmonic and vocalists Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana in A Broadway Romance, a one-night-only Valentine's Day concert, Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. The program will feature songs from popular musicals ranging from Bernstein's West Side Story and Gershwin's Girl Crazy to Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel and Stephen Sondheim's Company, woven together to tell a unified narrative of a romance from beginning to end, from meeting to first date to falling in love to marriage.
