Nashville Repertory Theatre announces Broadway star and former Tennessee Titan Eddie George as this year's Honorary Chair for Nashville Rep's Broadway Brunch, Sunday, May 7, at City Winery. After a national tour of Chicago and his successful run as Walter Lee Younger in A Raisin in the Sun, George will help support the Rep in its annual fundraiser.

10 Hairy Legs returns to New Brunswick for its fifth consecutive season at a new location. Tickets for the weeknight show are $25 General Admission/Students at the Door and $20 for Artists, Students in Advance and Groups of 10 or more.  Tickets: 10HL.org. A pre-Thanksgiving Holiday Treat is in store for the whole family when Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, and invited female guest artists will dance James' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College on Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 pm for public audiences and again onMonday, November 21 at 10:00 am for school groups. While I was watching FOLLIES, I was reminded of our own beloved Fox Theatre, and how it had tread a similar path during the 1970's. Like the fictional Weismann Theatre where this story's action takes place, it had been fallen on hard times, reduced to screening Kung-Fu and exploitation film fare before being renovated and reopened. But there is no restoration in the cards for the Weismann, and the people that come to it for one final celebrated glimpse may be nearing the point of being past reclamation themselves. This is superior Sondheim, and though it's not revived as often as some of his other works, it's full of the kind of interweaving melodies and motifs that this master composer is so adept at creating.
