Madison Opera continues its 50th anniversary season with the company premiere of Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera in The Playhouse at the Overture Center for the Arts. The Threepeny Opera will close on Feb. 13, 2011. The production is Madison Opera's second venture in the intimate Playhouse and features a stellar cast from across theater and opera.

Seattle Opera today announced its captivating 2011/12 season, featuring an American treasure, the greatest French opera, the company premiere of a work by Verdi, one of opera's fundamental love stories, and a beloved Puccini tragedy. The season opens with Porgy and Bess in July, followed by Carmen in the fall and Attila, Orphée et Eurydice, and Madama Butterfly in 2012.

Madison Opera opens its 50th anniversary season with Mozart's classic comedy The Marriage of Figaro on Friday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in Overture Hall.

This November, Madison Opera and the Overture Center presents The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart's comedic opera. The story follows Figaro and Susanna, two young lovers who intend to be married, but whose plans were interrupted by Count Almaviva.

Opera Pacific's 2008-2009 main stage season at Segerstrom Hall of the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, opens with Rossini's The Barber of Seville, which performs October 22 - November 1, 2008. This is Opera Pacific's first main stage offering of The Barber of Seville since 1996.
