The Jeff Awards announced 162 nominations in 31 categories for Chicago Equity theatrical productions which opened between August 1, 2009, and July 31, 2010.

Academy, the 2009 New York Musical Theatre (NYMF) selection to The 2010 Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) in Daegu, South Korea has been awarded The Best Musical Prize at The Festival.

ACADEMY, seen at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre in October 2008, was conceived and developed by Andrew Kato, Maltz Jupiter Theatre's Artistic Director, with book, music and lyrics by John Mercurio. The show will go to Korea next week to participate in DIMF- Daegu International Musical Festival.

CALVIN BERGER, a musical retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac, will open tonight at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey. The show will feature Broadway star Noah Weisberg as Calvin, alongside David Hull, Krystal Joy Brown and Dana Steingold. Previews for the production began February 10th.

Set to perform at this year's gala are the casts of the winning shows, as well as Sh-K-Boom's own Sherie Rene Scott, Alice Ripley, Gavin Creel, and Kelli O'Hara. The event will take place on Sunday, November 22nd, at 6:30pm at the Edison Ballroom.
