Jacob's Pillow presents the Pillow debut of Compagnie CNDC-Angers/Robert Swinston as part of the global Merce Cunningham Centennial, July 3-7 in the Ted Shawn Theatre. Under the direction of Robert Swinston, a longtime Merce Cunningham Dance Company member, later assistant to the choreographer, and finally director of choreography, France's National Center for Contemporary Dance/Angers brings three masterworks by Cunningham: Suite for Five, Inlets 2, and How to Pass, Kick, Fall, and Run. This celebratory program also features archival footage of Cunningham performing at Jacob's Pillow. The performance is the anchor event of a week-long exploration of this American master.

Created by Arts Centre Melbourne with Australian New York-based performer and curator Sophia Brous, the third iteration of the intoxicating exploration of ecstatic performance is the most bold, distinctive and cross-disciplinary yet. Featuring icons of music, theatre, dance and performance ritual from five continents, Supersense is presented over three days in the underground labyrinth of Arts Centre Melbourne.

Seattle International Dance Festival Opens June 7

Over the past 14 years the Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF) has grown to three weeks of events and performances. This year's festival has attracted dance artists from Seattle, the United States and as far away as Benin/West Africa, Italy, Germany, Ireland and India. BWW Review: Malpaso Cuban Dance Company Spices Things Up In A Rare Los Angeles Appearance At The Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts

They are a formidable dance company, albeit a young one.  Their repertoire is varied and ambitious and exudes an energetic force guiding their growth and depth that seems destined to succeed.  The Malpaso Cuban Dance Company performed March 28 - 30, 2019 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.  They are the only independent dance company in Cuba, and while integrating modern and contemporary dance into the mainstream in Cuba, they are also growing, learning and expanding by dancing works choreographed by North American choreographers and infusing their own varied culture and Cuban influences into others' work.
