Today the Merce Cunningham Trust announces Summer & Fall 2019 programming for the worldwide Merce Cunningham Centennial, which unites artists, companies, and cultural and educational institutions in a celebration of Cunningham's vital impact. Launched in the fall of 2018 and continuing throughout all of 2019, the Centennial honors Cunningham's legacy across continents and artistic disciplines. The diversity of activities and participating partners demonstrate the profound, enduring resonance of the choreographer's work and his approach to how the body moves in time and space.

Jacob's Pillow presents the Pillow debut of Compagnie CNDC-Angers/Robert Swinston as part of the global Merce Cunningham Centennial, July 3-7 in the Ted Shawn Theatre. Under the direction of Robert Swinston, a longtime Merce Cunningham Dance Company member, later assistant to the choreographer, and finally director of choreography, France's National Center for Contemporary Dance/Angers brings three masterworks by Cunningham: Suite for Five, Inlets 2, and How to Pass, Kick, Fall, and Run. This celebratory program also features archival footage of Cunningham performing at Jacob's Pillow. The performance is the anchor event of a week-long exploration of this American master.

Live Performance Australia (LPA) today announced that one of Australia's most celebrated musicians and singer songwriters Kev Carmody will be the recipient of the 2019 JC Williamson Award.

Supersense: Festival of the Ecstatic returns with a hypnotic collision of music, performance, dance and theatre in an ecstasy-inducing 2019 program from 23 - 25 August, 2019. Created by Arts Centre Melbourne with Australian New York-based performer and curator Sophia Brous, the third iteration of the intoxicating exploration of ecstatic performance is the most bold, distinctive and cross-disciplinary yet. Featuring icons of music, theatre, dance and performance ritual from five continents, Supersense is presented over three days in the underground labyrinth of Arts Centre Melbourne.

Over the past 14 years the Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF) has grown to three weeks of events and performances. This year's festival has attracted dance artists from Seattle, the United States and as far away as Benin/West Africa, Italy, Germany, Ireland and India. Radian percussionist and composer Martin Brandlmayr has announced the release of his new album Vive Les Fantômes, out on June 14th. The radio play was created for German station SWR and awarded The Karl Sczuka Prize for Works of Radio Art, an honor previously given to the likes of John Cage, Luc Ferriari, Hanna Hartman, and Pierre Henry.

Boston Court Pasadena continues its mission of fostering new musical talent with the 3rd Annual Emerging Artists Series, May 30 June 9, 2019. Jacob's Pillow announces the complete schedule of Festival 2019. They are a formidable dance company, albeit a young one.  Their repertoire is varied and ambitious and exudes an energetic force guiding their growth and depth that seems destined to succeed.  The Malpaso Cuban Dance Company performed March 28 - 30, 2019 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.  They are the only independent dance company in Cuba, and while integrating modern and contemporary dance into the mainstream in Cuba, they are also growing, learning and expanding by dancing works choreographed by North American choreographers and infusing their own varied culture and Cuban influences into others' work.
