Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces nine productions of the 2017/18 Season-which will engage audiences with timeless stories in transformational settings. The season also marks the introduction of the Theater's new and innovative third performance venue, The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare. Additional productions are to be announced this summer.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater  (CST) continues its summer tradition of vibrant family programming with Madagascar - A Musical Adventure, directed and choreographed by Matt Raftery at the Theater's home on Navy Pier, July 13-August 27, 2017. Based on the DreamWorks Animation motion picture, this wild and wacky new musical is written by Emmy Award-winner Kevin Del Aguila with original music and lyrics by George Noriega and Joel Someillan.

Red Branch Theatre Company Artistic Director Stephanie Lynn Williams and Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes unveiled the 2017 season titles on opening night of the current production of Evil Dead: the Musical. The season, entitled 'Mad About You' includes productions of Mad Libs Live!, Lysistrata Jones, The Bridges of Madison County, and Madagascar - A Musical Adventure.

One of the national leaders in producing theatre for youth and family audiences, The Coterie also enriches curriculum for schools looking for excellence in arts education. This coming season, The Coterie will have several productions where young theatre-goers will interact and participate during the performances.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Broadway Across America have partnered to launch "Madagascar Live," DreamWorks Theatricals' first-ever live family touring show.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Broadway Across America today announced that they have partnered to launch 'Madagascar Live,' DreamWorks Theatricals' first-ever live family touring show. The production is expected to visit over 70 cities across the United States beginning in January 2011, including a stop at Detroit's Fox Theatre from Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1. The brand new stage show aimed at family audiences stars the cast of popular characters from the beloved Madagascar film series, including Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and members of the madcap Madagascar crew, King Julien and the crafty Penguins.

The brand new stage show aimed at family audiences stars the cast of popular characters from the beloved 'Madagascar' film series, including Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and members of the madcap Madagascar crew, King Julien and the crafty Penguins.

The show was created by the team who brought us the record-breaking Dora the Explorer Live, which was seen by over 3 million people. The lead role of kids' favorite adventurer Diego is played by Jesse Carrion, who recently starred in the 2007 national touring production of Rent and the original play The Lockdown Club at the Stella Adler Theater in Los Angeles.
