Legendary stage and screen star Joel Grey will be interviewed at 12 noon on Sunday, May 28 at the Paley Center for Media in New York City (25 West 52nd Street, NYC), preceding a screening of the 1970 NBC Telecast of George M! from 12:15 to 1:45 PM. The interview and screening are free and open to the public.

In May, June & July the NPR Program "Broadway to Main Street" hosted by Laurence Maslon which airs Sundays at 3PM on NY/Long Island NPR-member station WPPB/88.3FM will feature interviews with Tony Award-nominee & Sweeney Todd star Carolee Carmello (May 28); a retrospective of The 1967 Tony Awards (June 4); a 2017 Tony Awards Special on Tonys Sunday (6/11) with recordings of all the top nominees for Best Musical and the best musical performer nominees including Bette Midler, Josh Groban, Ben Platt and more; a centennial tribute to Ella Fitzgerald (6/18); a Hello, Dolly! themed show (6/25) with musical selections from Carol Channing, Pearl Bailey, Ethel Merman, as well as selections from the new Bette Midler recording; and for a special July 4 holiday weekend show with original 1776 star William Daniels (July 3).

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization that helps everyone in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition, just held its Annual Gala last night, May 8, 2017. The evening celebrated Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Danny DeVito, two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field, outstanding corporate leader Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP and 21-time Tony Award-winning theatrical director and producer Harold Prince. Mr. DeVito, Ms. Field and Ms. Jenkins were awarded The Actors Fund's Medal of Honor. Mr. Prince received The Actors Fund's Lifetime Achievement Award.

The dog days of summer arrive early this year, as Rubicon Theatre Company presents a spring production of A.R. Gurney's howlingly funny canine comedy SYLVIA, a love story about empty nesters Greg and Kate, and an irrepressible mutt named Sylvia. Written by Drama Desk, Obie and Lortel Award-winning playwright A.R. Gurney (also known for Love Letters and The Dining Room), the plot follows what happens after a man going through a midlife crisis finds a dog in Central Park and brings her home without consulting his wife.

Salty Brine has announced the premiere of a new cabaret, Welcome to the Jungle, as the latest installment in his series, The Living Record Collection. Welcome to the Jungle, inspired by Harry Nilsson's hit album Nilsson Schmilsson and Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, will perform on May 10, 17, 24, 31 and June 7 at Pangea.

Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, opened just last night, Wednesday, April 19, at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The limited engagement began performances on Wednesday, March 29. BroadwayWorld was on hand for opening night and we're taking you to the red carpet below!
