Paul McCartney's 'Live Kisses' to Air on PBS's GREAT PERFORMANCES, 9/7

Paul McCartney's Live Kisses captures the magical night of February 9 in the City of Angels - coincidentally, the 48th anniversary of The Beatles' U.S. TV debut on The Ed Sullivan Show no less --when Paul McCartney decided to bring Kisses On The Bottom, his newly released collection of pop standards and two originals, to life at the very same Capitol Studios where much of the album was created. The very special event will air on GREAT PERFORMANCES, Friday, September 7 at 9 p.m. on PBS.

STAGE TUBE: LP Debuts 'The Ukulele Sessions' with 'In the Pines' Cover

Renowned Warner Bros. Records recording artist LP, whose song 'Into The Wild' has captured the hearts of fans and critics around the world, has just completed her first video clip in a series of live solo performances that feature her covering some of her favorite songs. These video clips feature just LP and her ukulele playing songs filmed at various locations in a completely raw setting. The first of her 'Ukulele Sessions' features 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night,' also known as 'In The Pines,' a track by American folk blues pioneer Lead Belly, which has been recorded under different titles by numerous artists since the 1940's. Paul McCartney to Have Cameo Role on AMC's MAD MEN

According to UK's The Sun, producers of AMC's MAD MEN have approached Sir Paul McCartney about using some of his solo music on the show and offering him the opportunity to have a 'walk-on' role as well. According to the report, the 69-year old former Beatle has agreed to both propositions.

The 22nd annual MusiCares tribute gala took place on February 10th, honoring Paul McCartney. McCartney has been selected as the 2012 MusiCare Person of the Year in recognition of his artistic and philanthropic efforts. The star-studded tribute took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center's West Hall. The gala featureD a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, and concert of McCartney's music, played by a variety of guest musicians as well as McCartney himself. The annual event is held to raise funds and awareness of the Recording Academy's philanthropic wing, with proceeds benefitting MusicCares' emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs.
