The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces Director Ciarán O'Reilly (Irish Repertory Theatre's THE EMPEROR JONES) and Choreographer Byron Easley (urbanStages' LANGSTON IN HARLEM) as winners of the Joe A. The Festival, with staged readings of works by established playwrights as well as new voices, features Casa Cushman, by Leigh Fondakowski in conjunction with the Tectonic Theater Project, Strongman's Ghost by Jeffrey Hatcher, What We're Up Against by Theresa Rebeck, How To Write A New Book For The Bible by Bill Cain and Milk Like Sugar by Kirsten Greenidge. All readings are free with curtain time at 7:00 PM.

It carries an unrestricted grant of $5000 to the individual recipient.

Lead producers Margo Lion and Hal Luftig announced today that the new musical CATCH ME IF YOU CAN will open on Broadway Sunday, April 10, 2011 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. This new musical, created by a team of Tony winners, features a book by Terrence McNally, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, choreography by Jerry Mitchell and is directed by Jack O'Brien. Previews begin March 7, 2011. Casting and additional design team will be announced shortly.

Producer Daryl Roth has announced that Obie, Helen Hayes and GLAAD award-winner Marc Wolf will perform his solo show Another American: Asking and Telling at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th Street, NYC).

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) announces the selection of Morehead State University and University of Nevada Las Vegas as co-winners of the 2010-2011 Guest Artist Initiative Program grants. Each school will receive SDCF funding of $3000 to hire a professional director or choreographer for a mainstage production in early 2011.
