Moira Danis Brings Some People's Lives To Don't Tell MaMa, 5/14 & 5/15

Moira Danis returns to Don't Tell Mama with two additional performances of Some People's Lives, which gives audiences a glimpse into the lives of those around us - friends, lovers, relatives, and strangers. Each has a unique story to be told but using a delightful and emotional mix of songs by established writers like Stephen Sondheim, Cy Coleman, Tommy Wolf and Jimmy Webb and relatively new artists like Sara Bareilles, Susan Werner and Chely Wright, Moira shines a light on the connections that exist between us and the similarities shared by 'Anyone Who Loves'. Moira will be supported by, and singing with, a band featuring some of New York's finest musicians -- Wells Hanley on piano, Brian Griffin on percussion and Ben Mars on bass.

Following smash hit productions in Australia, London and Toronto, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL began previews on Broadway on February 28 and opened on March 20th. PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL stars Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson, Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams as the trio of friends on a heart-warming, uplifting road trip of a lifetime who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.

BWW Reviews: JIMMY WEBB at the Kranzberg Arts Center

St. Louis has experienced a veritable confluence of exceptional songwriting talent with concerts by Randy Newman (The Sheldon), Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard (The Fox), along with the recent three day stand at the Kranzberg by Jimmy Webb. While I certainly regret missing the show at the Fox, I did catch Newman's evening at the Sheldon, and I also managed to attend the opening night performance of Jimmy Webb (March 17, 2011), who promoting his latest release, Just Across the River, as well. I'm happy to report that I enjoyed the show, and was particularly entertained by his reminiscences on a golden era of songwriting.

The Presenters Dolan Welcome JIMMY WEBB to the Kranzberg 3/17-19

It is widely recognized that multi-Grammy-Award winner Jimmy Webb is one of our best and most acclaimed songwriters. (Just last month he was elected Chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.) It is less well known that he is a first rate performer, and what a treat to see him in this intimate venue. With great songs, and great stories about his friends who recorded them, Jimmy fully connects in what is a terrific show. After a month-long tour of Ireland and the UK, he'll be here on St. Patrick's Day and weekend. He'll be telling some Ireland stories -- there's a very funny one about traveling around rural Ireland, lost, with Richard Harris.
