Singer/ actor Joshua Dixon follows his acclaimed cabaret debut with a return engagement of FLY UP! at The Duplex on Sunday, June 22nd at 7:00PM and Monday, June 30th at 9:30PM. Using an eclectic mix of songs from Broadway, The Great American Songbook and contemporary music, FLY UP! will give us a glimpse into Joshua's life so far - from his Mormon childhood to his college years to becoming a man in music and theater. The Palace Theatre opened its doors 85 years ago this June 2nd under the direction of Stamford resident Mary Vuono who owned and operated the theater as a vaudeville and motion-picture house in 1927. The essence of vaudeville was variety, and in that spirit, The Palace Theatre will bring a wide assortment of offerings to the Harman Stage for its 85th anniversary season.

Though playwright Rachel Crothers was regarded as the toast of the town for many a Broadway season - she had 29 plays debut there in the years between 1906 and 1940 - she's scarcely know by 21st Century playgoers.  Fortunately, the Mint Theater Company has been doing its part to return her name to the limelight; first with their mounting of her clever take on religious fads, Susan and God, and now with a sweeter, more uplifting comedy/melodrama - one that was a finalist for the first Pulitzer Prize for Drama - A Little Journey.
