On Wednesday, September 5, SHOWTIME hosted the premiere of the new SHOWTIME series KIDDING. The screening was held at Arclight Cinerama Dome and was followed by an after party at the Lombardi House.

 SHOWTIME has released the series premiere of its new comedy KIDDING early across multiple platforms. The series stars Golden Globe winner Jim Carrey in his first series regular role in more than two decades. KIDDING reunites Carrey with Oscar® winner Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and is created by Dave Holstein (WEEDS, Raising Hope). The premiere episode is available for free now on YouTube, Facebook and SHO.com. The 10-episode season of KIDDING will premiere on Sunday, September 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT after SHAMELESS. Early sampling for KIDDING is part of the SHOWTIME Free Preview Weekend available now to over 71 million households through Monday, September 3. SHOWTIME has released a trailer and the official posters for its new half-hour comedy series KIDDING, starring Golden Globe® winner Jim Carrey in his first series regular role in more than two decades. Premiering on Sunday, September 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT after the season nine premiere of SHAMELESS, KIDDING reunites Carrey with Oscar® winner Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and is created by Dave Holstein (Weeds, Raising Hope). 

In a unique collaboration with CSU San Marcos, theatre artist and educator  Rebecca Johannsen returns to San Diego to present her moving and powerful exploration of female soldiers. Women at War is devised from Johannsen's interviews conducted with the US Army's Female Engagement Team (FET) Unit, deployed to Afghanistan from 2012-2013. The unit's mission was to engage with the local female Afghan population to build relationships and gather intelligence. They often found themselves in combat zones before women were legally allowed in combat, and received intensive physical training to prepare for the mission. The production runs November 7-10. Talk-backs will follow each production in collaboration with CSUSM Veteran's Center.

The sixty-fourth edition of the Taormina FilmFest, produced by Videobank and taking place July 14-20 under the new artistic direction of Silvia Bizio and Gianvito Casadonte, has unveiled its full program with over 50 films, including 14 World Premieres, 12 European Premieres, and over 10 Italian premieres, including documentaries and shorts.
