50th Anniversary of the Beatles in Pittsburgh Concert Set for Benedum Center, 9/13

Fifty years ago, the Beatles came to America.... and made their only Pittsburgh appearance at the Civic Arena on September 14, 1964. Legendary concert promoter Pat DiCesare, who brought the band to Pittsburgh for its historic performance, will reprise his role by hosting a series of events, including a tribute concert featuring Beatlemania Now, on September 13th at 8pm, at the Benedum Center.

Celebrating the vast grape growing and wine producing industry in southern New Mexico, as well as the state's booming microbrews, the Spencer unveils the first Spencer Wine & Brew Festival at the theater today, July 5 from 2 p.m.- 9 p.m. Various wineries and breweries will provide pours at booths set throughout the hall and arts & crafts vendors will also be on site, as will a selection of edibles including gourmet sliders & sides, fruit & cheese plates will be available for purchase. Live jazz music performed by the sizzling ensemble Straight Up Jazz of Albuquerque, and Spanish guitar with area favorite Tomas Vigil, also sets the mood for a day of popping good fun.

Tony Winner Levi Kreis Joins VIOLET as 'The Preacher'

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Tony Award winner Levi Kreis (Million Dollar Quartet) joins the company of Violet as 'The Preacher.' Violet stars two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, Colin Donnell, Alexander Gemignani and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry. Only six weeks remain to see the Tony nominated production, which plays a strictly limited engagement at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street) through August 10, 2014.

Peter Frampton's HUMMINGBIRD IN A BOX Set for June 23

Hummingbird in a Box, the latest work from legendary musician Peter Frampton, will be released June 23 via RED Distribution. The new music was inspired by the Cincinnati Ballet, featuring seven original guitar pieces in Frampton's virtuosic stylings. Frampton composed all songs on the mini-album along with Gordon Kennedy, who also co-produced the recording. The two previously teamed up for Fingerprints, which garnered them both a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album.

Raue Center For The Arts has announced the lineup for the third annual National Piano Conference at Raue Center. The organization is thrilled to announce that Lance Lipinsky of Chicago's "Million Dollar Quartet" will play the big event for a second time! His appearance last year at Raue Center was a SOLD OUT show in which he appeared as part of a performance entitled Jerry Lee & Friends: An Evening of The King, the Killer & Cash! This year, Lance returns, but he has brought with him his own band of rockabilly rockers, the Lovers. The conference runs from June 27, 2014 to June 29, 2014. Lance Lipinsky and his band The Lovers will perform on June 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

One of the most iconic rock-and-roll bands to come out of London during the 1970s—Grammy Award-winning “America”—joins Pacific Symphony Pops to rock the house with hot hits, soulful ballads and rock classics. The perennial folk-country-rock favorite celebrates its 44th anniversary this year with nearly half a century of gold and platinum albums, chart-topping hits and a variety of genre-crossing tunes in its wake. The band's surreal, somewhat psychedelic lyrics, which were an anomaly in their genre, helped to define the new California soft-rock sound that grew out of the area's folk and pop. Founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell join the orchestra to perform such signature hits as “A Horse with No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” “You Can Do Magic,” “Lonely People,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “Tin Man” and more.
