The Gretna Theatre has announced their 2010 summer season. Productions will include Nunsense starring Sally Struthers, The Marvelous Wonderettes, The Will Rogers Follies, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Peter Pan, Mr. Hobbs' Vacation, and Mame. The season will begin with Nunsense, opening June 3rd.

Kelsey Grammer and Douglas Hodge, the Tony Award-nominated stars of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES on Broadway, are featured on this weekend's edition of NY1 Onstage. On Stage airs Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM and again from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. It repeats on Mondays from 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM and Tuesdays from 12:30 AM to 1:00 AM.

The Broadway League announced the honorees of the Broadway League Awards, honoring excellence and achievement for Touring Broadway, during the League's recent 2010 Spring Road Conference. First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre is once again preparing to start work on an area premiere production. Having been the first to bring shows such as Jerry Herman's La Cage aux Folles, Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl - The Musical, Mel Brooks' The Producers, as well as a regional theatre premiere production of The Wedding Singer to western Maryland audiences, Way Off Broadway is adding the musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to the list of firsts.

Opening Reagle Players' 42nd consecutive season on June 18th is the classic Into the Woods starring Broadway powerhouse Rachel York. York recently won the 2009 Irne Award for Best Musical Actress for her critically praised turn as the title character in Reagle's Hello, Dolly! That production was part of the group's 'Salute to Jerry Herman' season last summer. York now returns in mid June to portray The Witch in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's original fairy tale Into the Woods.

Broadway star Bernadette Peters will appear on Fox 5's 'Good Morning New York' on May 28, 2010 to promote her new children's book, 'Stella is a Star.' Peters will discuss the book and her efforts to raise money for her charity Broadway Barks.

One of the most successful and popular theatrical franchises is Dan Goggin's Nunsense series. In all, there are nine different stage productions that revolve around the Little Sisters of Hoboken. Broadway legend Carol Channing is fond of telling the story about a group of Russian diplomats who came to see the original production of Hello, Dolly! in 1964. Although they spoke virtually no English, they sat through the show and visited with the star in her dressing room afterwards. Talking through an interpreter, they told her that they loved the musical because it was filled with so much optimism. Although they couldn't understand the lyrics, the ebullience of Jerry Herman's music allowed them to experience and enjoy what producer David Merrick touted as 'the world's happiest musical'.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES has won the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

Douglas Hodge is this year's recipient of the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Best Actor in a Musical for LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.

Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose critically acclaimed production of 'Ragtime' transferred from the Kennedy Center to Broadway last fall and is nominated for six Helen Hayes Awards, will direct and choreograph the Reprise Theatre Company production of the 1962 Pulitzer Prize winner 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.' The production will end its run May 23rd.
