PBS to Bring LAST TANGO IN HALIFAX to U.S.

BBC Worldwide North America Sales & Distribution and PBS announced today the sale to PBS of the first season of the critically acclaimed British drama LAST TANGO IN HALIFAX and the third season of the award-winning BBC hit CALL THE MIDWIFE.

Melissa Errico to Undergo Vocal Chord Surgery

According to her official Facebook page, Broadway veteran Melissa Errico will be soon be undergoing a surgery to repair a blood vessel on her vocal chord. Just last month, Errico had to depart the Classic Stage Company production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion to go on vocal rest.

Debra Messing Joins David Hyde Pierce to Co-Host the Drama League Awards

The Drama League has announced Emmy Award winner Debra Messing will join Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce as co-host of the 79th Annual Drama League Awards. One of the high points of the theater season, the Awards Luncheon will be held Friday afternoon, May 17th at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway) at noon.

Civic Theatre of Allentown's MOMMALOGUES Receives NYC Premiere at Marvell Rep

MOMMALOGUES, a play written by Lehigh Valley playwrights Sharon Lee Glassman and Gretchen Klinedinst-Furst, which had its world premiere at Civic Theatre of Allentown in May 2012, will make a move to New York City later this month for six performances beginning May 22 through June 2. The show, which is a collection of emotionally charged monologues honoring mothers and the unique and astonishing bond they share with their daughters, will have its New York premiere at The Barrow Group Mainstage Theatre, 312 W 36th Street in Manhattan as part of the season of the non-profit Marvell Repertory Theatre.

The Drama League has just announced that Patina Miller and Michael Urie will co-host the announcement of the 2013 Drama League Nominees for Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and the much coveted Distinguished Performance Award set for Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sardi's. Syfy & Robert Zemeckis Partner to Produce New Thriller NO PLACE

Syfy is joining creative forces with FOX Television Studios, Academy Award©-winning director/producer Robert Zemeckis, producers Jack Rapke and Jackie Levine, and feature film writing team John Brancato and Michael Ferris (Terminator Salvation, The Game) to develop the series project No Place, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. Zemeckis and Rapke are executive producers along with Brancato and Ferris who will write the pilot.
