ANGELA'S MIXTAPE Comes To New Georges 4/6-5/2

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director), the OBIE Award-winning downtown theater company founded in 1992, and Hip-Hop Theater Festival will present the premiere of OBIE Winning Actress/Pulitzer-nominated playwright Eisa Davis' 'ANGELA'S MIXTAPE,' directed by Liesl Tommy. Ms. Davis who was recently seen on Broadway in last season's award-winning musical Passing Strange will portray herself and Linda Powell, last seen on Broadway in the Tony-nominated revival On Golden Pond, will portray her aunt, professor and activist Angela Davis. 'ANGELA'S MIXTAPE' will be performed at the Ohio Theatre, 66 Wooster Street (between Spring and Broome Streets). Previews begin Monday, April 6, and the official Opening Night will be Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. Performances will run through May 2.

New Georges' world premiere production of Wendy Weiner's 'Hillary: A Modern Greek Tragedy With a (Somewhat) Happy Ending,' directed by Julie Kramer will end its run, as scheduled, this Saturday, December 20. Mia Barron and Darren Pettie head up the eight-member cast as Hillary and Bill Clinton. Also featured are: Heidi Armbruster, Victoire Charles, Jorge Cordova, Charlie Hudson, III, Jenny Mercein, and Josie Whittlesey. 'Hillary' will perform its final four performances (Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m.) at The Living Theater, 21 Clinton Street (between E. Houston and Stanton Streets). New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director), the OBIE Award-winning downtown theater company founded in 1992, will present the world premiere of Wendy Weiner's 'HILLARY: A Modern Greek Tragedy With a (Somewhat) Happy Ending,' directed by Julie Kramer. Mia Barron, last seen on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning Best Play The Coast of Utopia, and stage and television's Darren Pettie will head up the eight-member cast as Hillary and Bill Clinton.

WET Launches 8th Season With 'A Perfect Couple'

WET (Women's Expressive Theater, Inc.) launches its 8th season with the World Premiere of Brooke Berman's A PERFECT COUPLE. Produced on an Off-Broadway contract, this limited engagement production is directed by Maria Mileaf (THE ARGUMENT at The Vineyard). Previews begin June 7th at the DR2 (103 East 15th Street) where WET became the first theater company in residence last year.

'None of the Above' with Feiffer & Green Begins Tonight

The newly formed South Ark Stage Company presents the Off-Broadway premiere of Jenny Lyn Bader's play None of the Above. Previews begin September 25 prior to an official press opening of October 10 at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre (410 West 42nd Street) in Manhattan.
