At the time of its closing, After Midnight will have run 8 months, with 19 preview performances and 272 regular performances. HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon, blazes to life in a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century's most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today.

On the heels of its Tony® Award win for Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder brought its award home to the Walter Kerr Theatre yesterday, June 18, to allow fans to pose with the prized medallion immediately following that day's matinee performance. In a special, unprecedented ceremony, fans were invited to hold the 2014 Tony® Award for Best Musical and pose for photos in front of the theater (219 West 48th Street). The Yale Institute for Music Theatre announces the creative teams and casting for the two original book musicals, Afterland, music and lyrics by Benjamin Velez and book and lyrics by Kathryn Hathaway, and Clouds are Pillows for the Moon, music by Tidtaya Sinutoke and book and lyrics by Ty Defoe, which will be developed in an intensive lab setting in New Haven, June 3-15. The Institute culminates with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, on June 14 and 15.

Following yesterday's matinee, the cast and band of Broadway's After Midnight paraded to 47th and Broadway where West 47th Street was renamed 'DUKE ELLINGTON WAY' in an official Street Sign Unveiling Ceremony at the corner of 47th and Broadway. Musicians from the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars (including Arthur Baron, one of the last surviving members from Ellington's orchestra) played two Ellington favorites for all of Times Square, in celebration.
