BROADWAY BARES Q&A with 'Classic' Edition's Jen Cody!

Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell have announced BROADWAY BARES: CLASSIC, the latest edition of their popular 'Solo Strips' series to be held Sunday, June 6 (9 & 11 PM) at Splash (50 West 17th Street). BROADWAY BARES: CLASSIC will feature strips inspired by favorite numbers from BROADWAY BARES' 20-year history. Headlining the evening will be BARES creator and executive producer Jerry Mitchell, who will take the stage of Splash, where he first created the event in 1992. Other favorite performers set to strut, strip and show that they 'still got it' include: Jennifer Cody (Shrek The Musical), Steve Geary (Contact), Sebastian LaCause (The Rocky Horror Show), Rachelle Rak (Fosse) and more.

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced nominations today for its 37th Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best animated features, television productions, commercials, short subjects and outstanding individual achievements in the field of animation. Walt Disney Animation Studios' 'The Princess and the Frog' received eight nominations, including Best Animated Feature and individual nominations for animated effects, character animation, production design and voice acting, while its 'Prep and Landing' received nine nominations including Best Animated Television Production and individual nominations for character animation, character design, music, production design, storyboarding and writing.

Variety is reporting that the latest Disney animated release 'The Princess and the Frog' claimed the the top of the box office chart on Friday, making $7 million off 3,434 theaters in its first Friday of wide release. Disney's Princess and the Frog, featuring for the first time four major Broadway voices - Anika Noni Rose, Jen Cody, Micheal Leon Wooley, and Peter Batlett - had its nationwide opening Friday, December 11.
