The Riverdale YM-YWHA's (5625 Arlington Avenue in the northwest Bronx) teen theater group, Riverdale Rising Stars, begins its ninth season with one of the country's first productions of RENT, the School Edition; opening Saturday, December 6, at 8pm. The show will run Saturdays, December 6, 13, and 20, at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays, December 7, 14, and 21 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, December 11, at 7pm. Matinee Sunday, December 14, at 2 p.m. Note: RENT contains mature themes and is not recommended for young children.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) will host the National Tour of RENT at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts, April 29-May 3, 2009, for just five days. Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum, Allan S.
