Though an official announcement was made just under a month ago that the classic muscial LES MISERABLES would be opening in Toronto in July 2012, Cameron Mackintosh tells Toronto.com today that it's 'highly unlikely' that the show will make that deadline.

One of BroadwayWorld's reliable sources has revealed that West End star Ramin Karimloo, who was just seen as the title character in the 25th Anniversary concert of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, will star as Val Jean in the London production of LES MISERABLES in 2012, taking over for Alfie Boe. David Mirvish and Cameron Mackintosh have just announced the Canadian Premiere of Cameron Mackintosh's highly acclaimed new 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables. The all-new production of Les Misérables featuring glorious new staging with spectacular re-imagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo and an all-Canadian cast will play the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. Performances begin July 20, 2012. The search for the cast for the new Canadian production will begin immediately.
