With Samuel L. Jackson leaving to shoot a film, producers of THEMOUNTAINTOP Jean Doumanian and Sonia Friedman are considering recasting the show, which also stars Angela Bassett, according to Variety.

THE MOUNTAINTOP Extends Through MLK Day

Producers Jean Doumanian and Sonia Friedman announced today that the Broadway premiere of Katori Hall's The Mountaintop, now playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, has extended its run by popular demand, and will now play performances through January 22.

Theatre for a New Audience and Baryshnikov Arts Center Present Fragments

Following acclaimed performances internationally, Theatre for a New Audience, in association with Baryshnikov Arts Center, will present the New York premiere of C.I.C.T. / Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord's Fragments from the texts by Samuel Beckett for only 29 performances at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 West 37th Street.

Producers Jean Doumanian and Sonia Friedman confirmed today that tonight's (Friday) performance of The Mountaintop is completely sold out. Tonight, and for all future sold-out performances, 25 standing room tickets will be made available at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre box office for $26.50 each.

Producers Jean Doumanian and Sonia Friedman announced today that tonight's performance of The Mountaintop, by Katori Hall, will be dedicated to civil rights pioneer and longtime Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. confidant Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth. Reverend Shuttlesworth passed away on Wednesday, October 5 at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy of extraordinary work on behalf of the civil rights movement.

FUNNY GIRL Revival to Play Broadway's Imperial Theatre Opening April 2012

FUNNY GIRL, starring two-time Emmy Award nominee Lauren Ambrose as Fanny Brice and two-time Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Bobby Cannavale as Nick Arnstein, will open on Broadway in April, 2012 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street), following its engagement at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles from January 15 through February 26, 2012, it was announced today by producer Bob Boyett. Additional casting, preview and opening dates will be announced shortly. It will be the first time FUNNY GIRL will be on Broadway since the 1964 original production.

Two-time Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Bobby Cannavale will star as Nick Arnstein opposite Lauren Ambrose, who will star as Fanny Brice, in the first Broadway revival of FUNNY GIRL since the 1964 original production. FUNNY GIRL, which features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and book by Isobel Lennart, will be directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher. FUNNY GIRL will play at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles from January 15 through February 26, 2012.
