Tonight, July 26 at 8 pm, one of Texas' best actor- story tellers, Jaston Williams (of 'Greater Tuna' fame), will be joined by legendary Lone Star musicians Joe Ely and Kimmie Rhodes for a memorable evening of humor, story spinning, and musical fun at The Grand 1894 Opera House. Whether you called Lubbock home (Joe and Kimmie), or spent your formative college years there (Jaston), an uncommon connection appears to link so many creative and people and eccentrics in West Texas. The Grand Announces Christmas In July Specials on Select Upcoming Productions

As a proud participant of Galveston's "Winter Wonder Island" activities, The Grand 1894 Opera House is offering special "Christmas in July" discounts from July 1 - 30, 2014, on select holiday events. Adding to the spirit of this pre-Christmas Island promotion, Santa will be sighted at various Galveston locations throughout July, including an appearance at The Grand this Sunday, July 6, during a performance by The Texas Tenors at 4 pm.

Miss Jeanne's Mystery Dinner Theatre to Present GREATER TUNA, 7/11 - 7/27

Miss Jeanne's Mystery Dinner Theatre is pleased to announce a July 11-27 run of the crowd-pleasing comedy Greater Tuna, by Jaston Williams, Ed Howard, and Joe Sears. Greater Tuna is presented by Penguin Productions and directed by Asa Ambrister, and will be the first play produced at Miss Jeanne's that will be outside of the mystery dinner show format. This outrageous look at life in Tuna, TX is a two-man show featuring twenty colorful characters, played by award-winning local actors Patrick Goedicke and Asa Ambrister in a series of quick costume changes. Goedicke won a 2013 'Lakie Award' for his portrayal of Lt. Columbo in Lakewood Theatre's Prescription: Murder. Ambrister was voted Best Supporting Actor of 2013 in Tennessee's BroadwayWorld.com Awards.
