To honor his legacy, Museum of the Moving Image will present The Master: Philip Seymour Hoffman from September 16 through October 2, a retrospective featuring sixteen films, including his directorial debut Jack Goes Boating; Capote, for which he won an Academy Award for Leading Actor; and The Master, Magnolia, and Boogie Nights- three films he made with Paul Thomas Anderson.

Written and directed by Obie and New York Outer Critics Circle Award-winner/ DGA Award, two-time Golden Globe and five-time Emmy Award nominee Robert Allan Ackerman, BLOOD returns to the The Complex in Hollywood beginning Oct. 14.

Westport Country Playhouse Sets Community Engagement Events for THE INVISIBLE HAND

Westport Country Playhouse will present a community engagement initiative, "Money, Power, and Belief: Reflections on 'The Invisible Hand'," July 17 through August 8. The series of events, free-of-charge and open to the public, will run concurrently with the Playhouse's production of the topical thriller, "The Invisible Hand," written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar, and directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director.

Online theater streaming service BroadwayHD will live stream 'She Loves Me,' marking the first time a Broadway show has been broadcast live. Roundabout Theatre Company's hit revival of 'She Loves Me,' starring Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi and Jane Krakowski, will be available to watch live on BroadwayHD.com on Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. EDT. The show will be produced in association with Ellen M. Krass.

This summer INDEPENDENT SHAKESPEARE CO. presents an electrified interpretation of Shakespeare's indelible anti-hero, RICHARD III, featuring David Melville as Richard and directed by Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Artistic Director, Melissa Chalsma. RICHARD III will begin previews at THE GRIFFITH PARK FREE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL on Saturday, June 25 at 7pm and will open on Thursday, June 30 at 7:00pm and perform through Sunday, July 24 at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. All ISC Summer Shakespeare productions are FREE to the public! RICHARD III is the first of two productions being presented at this year's GRIFFITH PARK FREE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL. THE TEMPEST will play July 30 - September 4.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center celebrated the 16th annual MonteCristo Award ceremony with a presentation of the honor to award-winning stage and film director, playwright, and actor George C. Wolfe on Monday night at the Edison Ballroom. The O'Neill annually bestows its Monte Cristo Award on a prominent theater artist whose lifetime work has had an extraordinary impact on American theater. The gala event supports the Center's commitment to developing new work and new artists for the stage.
