Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Additional Broadway casting was announced today for the highly anticipated musical, The Visit, soon to open on Broadway. The Visit will begin performances at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) on Thursday, March 26 with an Opening Night set for Thursday, April 23. General on sale will begin on January 31, 2015.

Lyrics & Lyricists gets going on the opening show of its 45th season with 'A Good Thing Going: The Stephen Sondheimand Harold Prince Collaboration' continuing tonight, January 12. Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, launches a new Musical Theatre Conservatory (MTC) program for Summer 2015 from June 1-August 8. BSC is offering a select number of musical theatre students (in the areas of performance, direction and choreography) the opportunity to work and train with top-level New York directors, choreographers, and composers while spending the summer in residence as a part of an award-winning professional theatre company in the cultural capital of the Berkshires, just a few hours outside of Boston and New York.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Roger Rees, Tom Nelis and Michelle Veintimilla will join Chita Rivera in John Kander and Fred Ebb's The Visit, which is expected to arrive on Broadway this spring. It has not yet been announced where and when the show will open, but an official announcement is imminent.

This week our spotlight is on Paul Loesel and Scott Burkell, whose original musical LMNOP received developmental productions at the University of Michigan and Goodspeed Musicals (Norma Terris Theatre). The show, produced with Third Coast Creative, will open in April 2015 at TUTS Underground in Houston, TX.

Certain to become an annual holiday tradition for Houston theatre go-ers, Ho Ho Humbug opens tonight, December 5th and runs through December 24th at Stark Naked's STUDIO 101. The play is recommended for audiences aged 13 and older.

Ebeneezer Scrooge and the memorable ghosts return in the Clarence Brown Theatre's long-running and most popular production. A magical tradition for the whole family and a great way to celebrate the season, 'A Christmas Carol,' Dickens' timeless classic, runs tonight, November 26 through December 21 on the mainstage with 7:30 pm and 2:00 pm performances.

On Monday, December 8th at 5pm and 7pm, WNYC and WQXR will host the fifth annual presentation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL: A Radio Drama, written by Arthur Yorinks and inspired by the Charles Dickens classic, performed by station hosts and special guests.
