Scott Fitzgerald in one of the greatest pieces of American literature, The Great Gatsby. On Friday, October 10, at 7:30 p.m. when the Cab Calloway Orchestra performs at The Ridgefield Playhouse, it will be possible to relive the past…. if just for one night…. through the silky smooth ensemble work, spicy brass harmonies and iconic "Hi-De-Ho" lyrics of one of the greatest American orchestras, now led by Cab's grandson, Calloway Brooks.
Red-hot jazz, wine and art will kick off Ridgefield's The Big Read initiative when the Cab Calloway Orchestra comes to town on Friday, October 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Sex, food and rock n roll was the theme of GLEE's "Tested" - showcasing some tubular 80s tunes ranging from Robert Palmer and Foreigner to Pat Benatar and Janet Jackson, all while explicating the finer points of modern sexuality as it pertains to the characters and viewing audience at large, as well. Reliably timely, GLEE got tested - and passed with flying colors; a rainbow, no doubt.
Somehow, I think your normal GLEE-capper, Robert Lawlor, knew this was going to be a down week for GLEE when he asked me to pinch-hit for him (don't worry if you don't know what that means, it's a sports term). While I have been generally quite pleased with the majority of episodes over the last two seasons, this episode felt like a throwback to Season 2 or 3, where far too many episodes felt like simply filler. While they might have ultimately been entertaining, they primarily served as a placeholder until we got to the more plot-specific episodes. With Kurt's attack last week and Rachel's 'Funny Girl' opening a week away, this episode felt disappointingly like a very low-stakes buffer between the two.
